Deus Ex sells over 600K units in it opening week

Square's Deus Ex Human Revolution has sold very well if recently released chart data is anything to go by but how much will it need to break even.

This game is seriously one of the best ive played EVER.

When i say that I mean i absolutely have no problem saying its up there with halflife 2 on my number one games list.

And a side note if anyone has read the e-book titled "the sleepwalking world" hidden behind a wall in some sewer in the game you will be like WHAT? did they seriously put that in the game?

this ebook outlines the illuminati and the bilderberg group and the corruption of FEMA and the United nations. and also states in BOLD LETTERS that
"THIS IS NOT FICTION THIS IS FACT!!!"
even though this is a fictional story, you could really tell there was someone thinking behind that.

I heart this game so much customization and choices while maintaining smooth continuity, it is unbelievable.

Oh and if on the off chance mone of the eidos employess comes strolling through here reading feedback, i just want to let them know, As soon as the end credits rolled i wanted to thank each and every one of you developers, you absoulutely KILLED IT this game has the game of the decade written all over it. The PC version hit a concurrent peak of 60k players playing it. That would mean that 75% of people who bought the game were playing it at the same exact time.

360 always has higher sales with these western type of games. about 1/3 of PS3 sales are in the East, so the istall base in the west is much higer. Look and any popular multiplat and you would see why 360 almost always have higher sales with Westerncentrict games (Madden, DeusX, Skyrim, COD, BField ...). These will all do better on 360, unless the developer insults the base.

Very glad it's doing well. Just finished me first playthrough, and already wanting to go again!

I've got it on PC, but the controls are so well mapped to the 360 controller and it's not a twitch shooter that I'm using a controller with it.

For anyone wondering about a typical play time, my Steam profile listed it as about 26 hours for my first play through (easy difficulty....I know, I know, I like to play through without dying the first time in most of my games) doing most of the side missions.

There are lots of different ways to approach each mission however. It was often when I'd cleared an area out that I'd find hidden vents, security terminals and more that would have given me a sneakier or more strategic option. Exploration is definitely rewarded!

and was super excited its my most disappointed game of the year. I could careless about graphics or anything else but when you are playing aggressive all the AI has to do is shoot you 2 times and than another 20 seconds of load time.

in this game either the AI sucks or they have perfect vision sometimes you can walk right by them and they won't react and sometimes you are sneaking and they will see you with their perfect shooting vision

I can't say I had any of the problems you did. Maybe you're just not a very good gamer, lacking some of the skill needed to play the game well, and also the augment that shows you their fields of view.

I agree about the bosses, but they don't spoil the game that much.

And you also don't need to use caps to try and get your point across either.

I rented it(didn't finish it tho). First game im gonna buy when I have the money. Great game. Was a bit worried about the Auto kills replacing Melee combat but it ain't really a big problem, it just holds it from being better than the first

The auto kills are what ruined the game for me. Not only the "auto kill" but the cut to black before and after really takes away from the game.

I agree, and I also didn't really care for the fact that when snapping out of cover there was no animation, and you were just instantly staring at a wall. It's a decent game, but things like that can take me out of it as well.

Human Revolution has possibly leap-frogged Portal 2 as my personal GOTY. It's been quite a long time since I've dropped a game in and felt so good about it. The soundtrack absolutely drenches it in atmosphere and they give you all the super-soldiering freedom you could ask for.

DE:HR while can also be liked by a casual gamer is mainly a game geared specifically to a specific type of player and yet it still sold 600K first week which is not bad numbers. By Christmas, DE:HR could be a 2 million unit selling game or at least close.

You do have to keep in mind though that these numbers only cover the first five days, and don't take into account the many digital sales the game had had (it's been a top seller on Steam for weeks). The full week one tally will likely be much closer to Mass Effect 2's figures than you'd expect.

The game it's great but there is a aspect of it I don't like,let me explain.
If you play the game in a stealthy way you get to rack up a lot of xp cause every single thing you do from kills to sneaking unnoticed and finding hidden paths gives you xp but if you wanna play all rambo you get way less xp and less praxis points too so in a way it's better to remain unnoticed and sneak than shoot and kill everything in your way.there it's not incentive to make me play any other way than sneaking and remaining unnoticed.

I didn't do much sneaking at all I pretty much killed everybody.
There are benefits to that too, like I got to raid everyone's pockets, and search through all computers and desk drawers without having to worry about being spotted.

I just don't have the patience for sneaking around, waiting for people to turn round before moving a few steps closer. I just pop one in their head with a silenced pistol and everyone is fine with that, well I got no arguments from them after it anyway :-)

believe me i knock everybody out, i just don't kill them.after that i can hack computers,check bodies and do anything i want,and you get more xp for knocking people out this way and get ghost and smooth operator(tha's 750 xp points you don't get if you get caught)there it's so many more advantages for playing stealthy.

I'm really happy on the behalf of both Eidos Montreal and Square Enix. This game is one of the most original and freshest gaming experiences I've had in a couple of years. It would be a shame if it didn't get the recognition it deserves. As for a sequel, I don't think they should do one for at least 3-4 years. Give players time to sink their teeth into this game before they release a new installment. Maybe release a couple of DLC's that are integrated with the story, like "Tong's Rescue".

Its a good game and all, but not as great, and as good as Deus Ex 1 and 2. Those games where more open ended at the time. Human Revolution plays too much like Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell. There is one Augments u have to get in the game or u will never get far. The side quest r just a few. Its gives u the illusion of freedeom.

I love this game, I'm so happy to play a worthy successor of Deus Ex ! With good sales, it's also a sign that a game does not need to be dumbed down to perform very well commercially. So I have faith that a game such as Thief 4 coul also end up being a great return of a beloved franchise

I'm absolutely loving this game and I am being serious when I say that it is a game gamers must play. It is different from everything else and lives up to the series' name. The devs have done an amazing job and I didn't think they would live up to the first game but they proved me wrong. Its the most enjoyable gaming experience I've had this year definitely. Its the one game that I can't wait to play again. This is a game you have to play at least twice. Once stealthy and the other blasting your way through which lead to two completely different experiences. Two words. Get it!
