Major League Gaming will be host to the second Mortal Kombat tournament of the year this weekend in Raleigh. Some of the best players in the country will be in attendance to compete for $7,000 on the MLG stage. While Mortal Kombat has received positive acclaim from various outlets, most consider Street Fighter, Tekken, and now Marvel vs Capcom as the pinnacle of fighting game titles. Even so, Mortal Kombat deserves to be held in that same breath, and here’s why.
Michael 'BrolyLegs' Begum, beloved Street Fighter icon, has passed at 35, leaving behind a legacy of courage and inspiration.
Damn, this guy was amazing and very courageous. It was unbelieveable how good he was at Street Fighter. Playing the game basically with his mouth. RIP.
Trevor Walker said: Fighting games have always been able to simultaneously experiment and innovate while staying true to their roots in the best of ways. Mechanics change, crossovers take place, and evolution occurs. One of the best examples of all three can be seen in the coveted guest character.
The fighting genre is full of mini-games, from Street Fighter's car destruction to Tekken Ball. Here's the best Mortal Kombat mini games.
MK9 is an excellent game, the best of the series imo.
I'm surprised there are people who still think MK shouldn't be in tournaments because it's is a noob-friendly game that anybody can pick up and play. Sure, you can probably button mash your way through most of the story mode, but if you're up against a competitive player who knows all the special moves and combos, you won't have a hope in hell of winning. A fair bit of strategy is involved in defeating an opponent, tbh.
great game... best modern mortal kombat
Wait... It's not as big?
