VGW: Please let it be known that this is the most difficult demo impression I have ever penned. Ever. The war between letting my fangirl flag fly, and that of journalistic integrity is strong, let me assure you. So let’s get the cut and dry out of the way: The demo for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine released on XBLA and Steam today, with the PSN version available tomorrow, August 24, 2011. The demo provides a brief overview of the combat — if played on Normal you’re looking at a 30 minute experience, and if on Hard … may the God Emperor guide you — along with a bite-size glimpse at the jet pack (about 8 minutes).
Bits & Pieces asks: Releasing in 2011, there's a sequel on the horizon for Warhammer 40,0000: Space Marine. Relic’s third person hacker-shooter is older than the average Twitch chatter – how does it hold up?
GF365: "These are our picks for the most iconic armored suits in games. This article only includes suits from games set in modern times or the future."
I’d take the Space Marine power armour off the list due to it not originating in a video game.
GF365: "Here are our picks for the ten most underrated third-person shooters that you might not have played before or even known about."
Actually great list TBH I agree with all 10
I hope one day we get some remakes for the following
The saboteur(with a proper remake and quality of life features this game could be great)
Scarface world is yours
Binary domain ( such a great game with great story)
GUN(this needs a remake)
Space marine 40k(such fun time)
Would also like to suggest adding the mercenary series even the 2nd game which is disliked by many is a fun time
I recently finished Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and found it to be very enjoyable.
The game respected the lore and the gameplay was quite decent.
The color palette was a bit underwhelming (backdrops and setting) and recycled but I think that it deserved better.
Here's hoping for an amazing sequel
Demo is amazing on pc. Suffers on xbox big time. If you have a gaming pc give this a try. Gorgeous in high res
this could actually be the straw that broke my resistance to getting into the WH40k franchise.
I'm normally not into shooters at all. They tend to bore me to death. I lasted 10 minutes in the Crysis 2 demo before I uninstalled that. It was only out of sheer curiosity that I downloaded the Space Marine demo yesterday because I'm big into the WH40K thing.
Well, I've already played through the demo several times and now looking forward to the full release. Charging into the ork horde with bolter blazing and chainsword roaring is just damn fun, crazy and addicting. It captures to perfection what I've always imagined a WH40K fight to be like. Bold, brutal and action packed.
