Well I have one concern..? Can you play though the campaign with friends online?..

These days I find My self buying games just to play with friends online... I find it really amazing that game companies don't get this... if your game has online though the campaign you will have more sales, because when your friend gets the game and likes it, he tells you to get the game..

and just like word of mouth sells games, this will make more and more sales, as more and more people see their friends playing it online..

Don't believe me, watch what happens with Dead Island.. (A game that doesn't seem that amazing at all, but will have some sweet play with friends though the whole game - a feature that will turn it into a juggernaut.)

Anyway I really enjoyed Warhammer-Kill Team- which was a PSN game they came out recently, and is like the smaller version of space marines, it was Awesome fun... what I didn't like, could not play with a friend though the game online...
EPIC FAIL..

So I hope this one lets you, Anyone Know for sure if you will be able too???

Yes, I'm pretty positive there is at least 4 player coop as well as a large multiplayer component

I've had the Collector's Edition on reserve over at the THQ store for some time now and have patiently been waiting since my E3 play.

It is phenomenal, but will ultimately be compared to Gears and, thus, panned. It's a shame because for all its similarities, it manages to be its own game through a powerful and fully customizable multiplayer mode.

After playing the demo yesterday, I reinforced my decision to support this game. Easily one of the best love-letters to fans of WH40k.

ya, I had this argument while I was playing the demo the other night.

I don't know about anyone else, but in my eyes... the space marines are like the great granddad's of the whole super, bulky, oversized weapon armed to the teeth, melee wilding, head stomping big bad marine type soldier.

these guys were knocking it around when packman was as good as it got! They were mashing alien scum up with chainsaw blades while cliffy was still sucking his thumb. i was collecting space marines before I even had a C64.

My friend was like he does not understand how I can compare the two (he is a big gears fan as am I) but he just refused to understand which I found funny because he is my age anyway. he only ever saw them on board games I just didn't get it.

anyway, as far as the game goes. I enjoyed it. I only have two main issues. I didn't like the health system much and I didn't like the way when you go into a stun combo, you would go into slow mo along with whatever you just hit, but everything else is in real time. this left you open to massive levels of damage. It just didn't feel right especially considering that the only way to gain health back was to go into a stun combo and then execute. granted it kept you in the thick of the battle but it could have been done better in my opinion. Thats the only thing that put me off.

he talks about it a bit in his demo review but i he says it forces you to move round and use other moves which I disagree with, if anything it forces to continue on with the next stun combo because after the first one you loose so much health just being open that the only way you can get out of it alive is to perform the over again to get more health back

Yeah, I can see that though my argument towards it being panned wasn't so much in the aesthetic of Gears, but the overall similarity in gameplay style...run & gun shooter, over the shoulder, plenty of melee and gratuitous violence. You and I both know how long this series has been running and it will be an often forgotten topic when the comparisons are made, and they will be made.

My complaints are similar to yours. I had to play through it twice because I thought I was missing something...

...that said, the Jump Pack mission/s are going to be a LOT of fun. This is going to be a crazy gameplay mechanic in multiplayer. Can't wait to sculpt my Librarians of the Astartes for multiplayer.

DARK WITNESS4654d ago

ya same here... it's a shame you could not play as other chapters during the single player.

I have always been into the Space Wolves or the Salamanders myself.

next they need to throw you in as a Terminator against the Gene Stealers. They were just epic with the power fists and mini guns

I used to play the Space Hulk game on the PC back in the day where you did just that...MS-DOS I believe? Man...they do need to resurrect that series, it was brutal!

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine came out more than a decade ago – a retrospective

Bits & Pieces asks: Releasing in 2011, there's a sequel on the horizon for Warhammer 40,0000: Space Marine. Relic’s third person hacker-shooter is older than the average Twitch chatter – how does it hold up?

Samus is on the list. Personally I'd swap the Space Marines with either Grey Fox from MGS or the COG armor from Gears of War.

You’re right. Hiding at the bottom so I missed it

There's no Dead Space listed in here, WTF!

Sciurus_vulgaris374d ago (Edited 374d ago )

I’d take the Space Marine power armour off the list due to it not originating in a video game.

Actually great list TBH I agree with all 10

I hope one day we get some remakes for the following

The saboteur(with a proper remake and quality of life features this game could be great)
Scarface world is yours
Binary domain ( such a great game with great story)
GUN(this needs a remake)
Space marine 40k(such fun time)

Would also like to suggest adding the mercenary series even the 2nd game which is disliked by many is a fun time

I recently finished Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and found it to be very enjoyable.

The game respected the lore and the gameplay was quite decent.

The color palette was a bit underwhelming (backdrops and setting) and recycled but I think that it deserved better.

Here's hoping for an amazing sequel
