Kotaku - Assassin’s Creed’s Ezio Has Become Bomberman

Kotaku - When we first started playing Assassin's Creed, all the way back at the beginning of the first one, if you wanted to kill a man you usually had to stab him somewhere. As the series has progressed, though, we've slowly been given more and more ways to kill a man from a distance.

I don't think i can disagree with this, I didn't play Brotherhood, (American 360, live in the UK and the game was region locked... had to sell it off to a friend). Anyways, I found combat in AC2 was easy as can be and the combo flow in brotherhood seems to me made things easier.

Unlike in AC when i faced off against a templar and group of soldiers there was always a bit of a challenge.

Anyways I saw the gameplay and the dude just threw grenades and dispatched like a group of 5 people. Waaayyyy to easy if you ask me, why use my sword or anything if I can just blow them all up.

Bet you in AC3 we'll get a gun, or something just shoot throw all the guards.

I seriously think this is something Ubi need to fix, make the guards difficult, or at the least have elite units which can be a problem to fight.

The fights were pretty easy in brotherhood.
I remember in AC2 turning off the screen icons, (health and weapons select) and playing the game with just the map on screen because I never had to worry about dying in combat, same with brotherhood.
TBH though, I played a lot of all of them, so I'm pretty proficient.

Yea both AC2, and Brotherhood were rediculously easy. Not a lick of challenge at all. It looks Ubisoft is just adding more overpowered broken things to make the game even easier if that is possible.

Heck in Brotherhood the Master Assassins were so overpowered that I didnt even need to bother fighting when I called on them. I could just stand there, and watch.

Ubisoft has go to do something to fix the complete lack of challenge in AC. The enemies are more like decoration.

Well Ezio is 50 something years old in Revelations. I imagine anything he can find to make assassinations easier he will use. As for the sword play, i just tend to look at it as he is getting better and better. He is a master assassin in Revelations so he should be a bad ass with a sword after all those years of fighting. At least that's how i look at it.

Maybe they could introduce difficulty levels.

On the hardest setting, take 1 hit, and you die.

TheGameFoxJTV4651d ago

Or the harder the difficulty, the less health, and User Interface the character has. Like, it doesn't warn you when a guard is suspicious.

Τhe combo flow in Brotherhood was a lot of fun, although it makes battles even easier. The only way to raise the difficulty level is by trying to accomplish the 100% "do it like Ezio" sync and approach the game as stealthy as possible.
I find the bomb crafting thing (along with the improved eagle vision)a very interesting addition in designing strategies to overcome the fact that Ezio is 50+ yo.

When will you decommission this new one? I’m only asking so I can be happier by not buying it at full price.

The dog Chorizo from FAR CRY 6 has wheelchair legs, so is hardly a decommissioned pet. In fact very useful for digging up dirt.

Historic Eras that Video Games Need to Explore

Xfire writes "Worldbuilding is a crucial part of any story. It's not an easy task to create a believable setting with its own set of rules, customs, traditions and political affiliations and then weave a story into the said setting. Luckily, storytellers and video game writers don't always need to create complex settings when we've got history books as thick as Big Chungus.

Historical eras make a fabulous setting for video games. They've already got the world-building nailed, complete with their own set of rules, customs, traditions and political affiliations. Honestly, I don't think I need to justify the fact that historical eras make an amazing setting for video games. If you don't believe me, just go ahead and play the Ghost of Tsushima or any of the Assassin's Creed games."

The first crusade would be pretty sweet. I’d probably enjoy any of those on your list if they were done respectfully. Like not some dork in Portland making a Russian Revolution game.

Benin Empire, Far East, Central America. Games are pretty biased toward Europe, North America, and the Middle East. There is a very big world out there.
