go cardinals!

anyways i cant wait for this feature on my upcoming (sep 1st ps3) good ol football. ;)

ATi_Elite4649d ago

WOW.....now that's impressive!!! NFL Sunday ticket on your PS3, that is an excellent service!!

Except shelling out $339.95 is a little steep for non DirectTV subscribers!!

For that price you can buy a PC and well............ "acquire" the same service at a HUGE discount!!

fluffydelusions4650d ago

"At the start of the season, viewers who do not currently have access to DIRECTV will be able to subscribe to NFL SUNDAY TICKET at the season price of $339.95. Existing DIRECTV customers can access the service on their PS3 for an additional $50 and use the PS3 as an additional receiver for your home."

WOW, people actually would pay that much to watch??

kurochi4650d ago

That's what I was thinking! I got excited for awhile there until I read how much it's going to be. It'd be cool if they let us do a pay-per-view for our favorite teams or something like that.

Corepred44650d ago

That's actually exactly what I'm hoping for when they see how many people aren't subscribing. My friend said he can order specific games, so I'm hoping they allow us to do that too.

Laika4650d ago

exactly. f*ck nfl sunday ticket. its a scam. most people just want their team for a cheaper price but no, they offer every game for fortune. i would only get this if i could pick my games for a cheaper price

kurochi4650d ago

I know, right? I mean I love football, but I can only take probably 2 games in a day before I have to get out and do something outdoors. Who has time to watch all 14 games???

mugoldeneagle034650d ago

NFL Sunday Ticket on PS3? Awesome. $339.95 for non Direct TV subscribers? Insane. I paid $120 for MLB.tv & I get 2,000 more games (roughly)

Hatmantc4650d ago

think of it this way. it's only $19 per week(nfl season is 18 weeks long) you could easily spend more then $19 if you went to the bar each weekend

sikbeta4649d ago (Edited 4649d ago )

Blame NFL for giving the rights to DTV which is a monopoly now, they can charge $500 if they want to, demands is there, so they can exploit it the way they want it...

Neko_Mega4650d ago

I think it comes with a dish and people are willing to pay for XBL to have access to Hulu and Netflix (As well as everything else).

DarkTower8054650d ago

That price is insane. I'd be willing to pay $50 to only watch my team's games (Rams), but full price is just insane. Maybe I'll find someone with the service and give them a few bucks so I can use it on my ps3.

KingSlayer4650d ago

"viewers who do not currently have access to DIRECTV" - that's the key to the price. I already subscribe to DirecTV and for an additional $50?! Sign me up.

OC_MurphysLaw4650d ago (Edited 4650d ago )

@KingSlayer... if you are already a subscriber to Direct TV it will be an additional $50 to use your PS3 as a receiver. What they aren't telling you is that you need to subscribe to a package that has the NFL Ticket as well (it is an additional cost) in order for you to see any of those games.

KingSlayer4650d ago

I wasn't clear. I have DirecTV and NFL Sunday Ticket. $50 to use it as a receiver seems slick. The service for a year if you already subscribe is $334...I opted for the $60 breakdown.

admiralvic4650d ago

I am shocked at how many people are shocked at the price. While I admit its high... this is only a few bucks more than Direct TV is charging people and have been for a while.

You can hardly complain when you're paying an extra 5 or so bucks to get a service you want, but without changing providers.

http://www.directv.com/DTVA... If you would like to see the price.

Again I think its high, but when thats what it was before you cant really complain.

Emilio_Estevez4650d ago

Yup, I work at Directv. If you want it installed right now, you would have to wait a month in a lot of places due to high demand caused by the Football season. Happens every year. If you are rich and a big football fan, you have the Sunday ticket. It really is awesome too. I get it for free :)

ATi_Elite4649d ago

HELL YEAH!

some people live in a different city than their favorite team therefore they would miss almost all of their games.

say your a Jets fan but you live in Green Bay. your only gonna see the jets on tv if they play on Monday or Sunday night. other than that it's packers viking bears lions. so plop down $400 and it's 16 games of
J
E
T
S
jets jets jets. Plus it allows you to see all the great match ups every week as Direct TV seems to have contractually grabbed the best games every week (unless you live in the home team's city).

Go EAGLES!!

GarandShooter4649d ago

You got that right! I can't wait to see the Eagles make that fat slob loudmouth Rob Ryan eat his words!

WTF i was pumped as i read that and then i seen the price 339 bucks.... i better get a slow jack and a ball rub with that.

BeaArthur4650d ago

Yeah it's a ripoff. I used to have Direct TV exclusively for this but it's way too expensive, I can go to a bar and get a meal and watch the game there for less that what this breaks down to a month. Now if they offered a reduced package just for the PS3 I might consider it but that price is exactly what they charge everyone else.

phantomexe4650d ago

Now i know what my brother pays thats just not worth it. I love football but i'll just see whats on cable.

khamvongsa094650d ago

"Use the PS3 as an additional receiver for your home"

Wait... So now I can have all the channels my living room receiver gets in my bedroom via my PS3? If so then THAT'S EPIC!!!!

xjoshbx4650d ago

I wish that was the case... If they obviously can use the ps3 as a receiver, why not just go ahead and bring full blown dTV service to it by treating it like any other receiver. Sure there are business reasons they can't do that yet, but looks like it could be in the future.

Microsoft once tried to nab LittleBigPlanet from Sony after a few drinks

It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.

Microsoft had a good idea but fumbled it again.

Project Spark idea was decent but they quickly gave up ..
LBP was wonderful

ApocalypseShadow1d 6h ago

Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.
https://www.playstationlife...

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.

They're scum.

Zachmo18210h ago

Microsoft didn't force MLB on Xbox. MLB gave Sony 2 options either go multiplat or risk losing the license.

Rynxie50m ago

And why do you think MLB said that? I believe Ms approached MLB.

OtterX13h ago

"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."

Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.

Tody_za13h ago(Edited 13h ago)

Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.

But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?

Inverno12h ago

Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.

Inverno10h ago

They shut down the servers, that's millions of user created levels gone. That and dead are pretty much the same, it's also been years since 3 and they cancelled HUB soooo.
