What a difference a year makes. When the PS3 launched on November 11, 2006, a frenzy ensued. The console was met with long lines fueled by a strong demand. To mark the one year anniversary of the PLAYSTATION 3, Sony launched a cheaper 40GB model that does not support backwards compatibility. The DUALSHOCK 3, Ratchet and Clank Future and Dynasty Warriors 6 put on sale as well. Less frenzy and crap weather, the new console did get a fair enough turnout - though, nothing like the craziness of last year. (That's to be expected!) At the Akihabara Yodobashi Camera Customers picked up the DS3 as well. We haven't heard of any sellouts here, so it'll be interesting to see what kind of boost the 40GB model gave the PS3 in Japan. It could beat the Xbox 360 this week!
Dynasty Warriors 6 was a controversial game that took the Warriors series in a much needed new direction. Can Dynasty Warriors 9 do the same?
DW9 came out a few years ago and was not met with kindness. You mean 10. DW6 was not a good direction at all but DW6Empires was alright by me.
What i remember from DW6 was alot of characters who had unique weapons in the previous games ended up with either a spear, sword or bow. Some that come to mind was the guy with the claw like Vega from street fighter, the guy with tonfas, the guy with the samurai sword and the chick with the bladed rings, all cool weapons changed to generic sword, bow or spear.
The spinoff strikeforce was pretty cool.
The RPCS3 team has announced that all the Ratchet and Clank games that were released exclusively on Playstation 3 can now run on the latest version of RPCS3. RPCS3 is the best Playstation 3 emulator that is currently under development and its incredible progress has really amazed us.

Sony is treating this as a re-launch. Though they had to scrape it down a bit, the 40 gig's $399 price is much more appealing than what they had going a year ago. Hopefully this will be the beginning of better days for the system. I know there's alot of hating going on, but personally I hope that all three systems do very well over the next few years. Any time all three of these companies are doing well, there will be less worries about money, more chances will be taken, and better games and peripherals will continue to pop up.
