"With The Legend of Heroes: Ao no Kiseki for PSP set to arrive in Japanese shops on September 29th, most retailers have put in their orders, and even Sony shares Falcom’s astonishment at the figures. Some 200,000 copies have been ordered — to be clear, that’s not pre-orders by gamers, just orders for on-shelf copies by the stores themselves. Still, it’s quite a number, indicative of the popularity of The Legend of Heroes in Japan. Internationally, the game would be extremely lucky to reach half that amount, which puts localization house XSeed Games right smack between a rock and a hard place." -PSLS
Falcom has announced the tentatively titled action RPG Tokyo Xanadu New Project for unspecified console(s) in celebration of the series’ 10th anniversary. A release date was not announced.
I played this on Vita a long time ago. I’ll play a new game for sure. Just release a physical PS5 copy and I’m in- I still have an unopened collectors edition somewhere with the rest of my unopened collectors editions. Someday I’ll open some of them when I get my game room set-up.
I downloaded Tokyo Xanadu on my ps4 on a sale, I have yet to play it, haha.
Falcom revealed its lineup of currently in development titles in its “Matters Concerning Business Plans and Growth Potential” investor presentation published via Nikkei today.
Ummmm fk yea. I love their games. Keep em coming. They are some of the few studios games that give me that old school vibe. Not saying others don't just that falcon kills it.
While yesterday Nihon Falcom announced the latest The Legend of Heroes title for Japan, during their investor Q&A it was revealed that the company plans to re-release The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky for modern platforms - though they don't quite know what form such a re-release might take.
If they released a physical collection of the original Trails of Sky, I would get it in a heartbeat.
Falcom should release a Vita bundle pack of the whole Trails in the Sky Trilogy for XSeed to bring to its NA audience. If they start working now they might finish up just in time for the holiday 2012 cash....
Text localization isn't too difficult. Voice localization is much harder. And I'm sure if it were extremely difficult, Xseed would ask Funcom for a higher percentage of sales.
trails made good profit for them when the system is "just as dead"
The second would make the same profit.
Is it worth translating?
I hope XSeed can make money off this game, they are one of my favorite publishers out there for obvious reasons.
