GamingUnion.net: "No one in their right mind is going to argue if Counter-Strike still holds relevancy in the shooter market today as just about every single competitive FPS fan to date has been weened off of the classic shooter. In fact, CS is arguably the reason that any sort of competitive FPS scene exists today, there's really just no fighting the fact that many of the liberties we enjoy today from iconic modern gaming weaponry to level design all stem from the good old fashioned Counter-Strike. In 2004, Counter-Strike: Source came along and more or less redid the classic CS style with a fresh coat of paint and a fancy new engine powering the backbone, but since then there really hasn't been too much word about the classic shooter. It may simply be because a few years since, following FPS games would take a forcible turn into another direction altogether, one that may threaten the relevancy of any Counter-Strike offensive, global or otherwise."
One of the only ways to play CS:GO on official servers is via the Xbox 360 version of the game.
I love video games so much that I never have the time to replay the old one that I have finished, my backlog has only gotten bigger and bigger. I don't get how some people can play one game for years (except for mmorpg)
Wonder why they've never ported this game over to last Gen and now current Gen. This game would be pretty popular right now, I think.
About 39.5 million loot boxes were opened throughout March 2023, right after Valve announced Counter-Strike 2. It goes without saying that gamers love gambling, especially those who play Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
I have about 260 hours on csgo and have not spent a single penny on any of the microtransactions. You can still enjoy it since it's not pay to win.
The rumours are heating up and it looks like Counter-Strike 2, the move onto the Source 2 engine for CS:GO, is coming very soon based on testing files found on Steam.
Not sure why this hyped tbh, it’s only in updated engine. Same maps, same game. So long as it’s top of steam listings, it’ll be here for evermore.
It'll be interesting to see how it fares upon release.
I do wonder what Valve have up their sleeves in regards to CS:GO, definitely looking forward to hearing more about the game, but I agree that it may face some hurdles, especially with the way the market is.
The thought of CS on consoles gives me wowzers in my trousers.
Having said that, I played CS on PC. So it also kind of kills my aforementioned boner.
I am a big CS fan. I will be picking this up provided it doesn't have respawn and isn't all casual like most of these other NUB FPS games. I was on here talking about how I would like to see CS on PS3 with Move support. Maybe they heard my pleas or other people have similar requests.
I will be ready to bitch slap complaining casuals and Nubs who avidly complain about things like "realistic recoil" or not being able to respawn right away.
the primary challenge at the moment for all multiplayer shooters is COD. Has been since 2007.
