Great list. If the list were to be expanded to 15 I'd add:

Killzone 2

Halo 3

Goldeneye 007

Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Shackdaddy8364642d ago

Battlefield 2 had better multiplayer than BC2. That's why so many people still play it years later.

BattleAxe4642d ago

Bad Company 2 plays way better than BF2. The only three things that I would say BF2 has over BC2 are bigger maps, 64 players and Jets, otherwise BC2 is an improvement in every way. BF3 is going to blend BC2 and BF2, and so it should be the best of both worlds.

I have to say that Rainbow 6 Vegas was the best MP for a shooter I have ever played. Being in control of your own lobby, dedicated servers, the teamwork involved, man I spent hundreds of hours playing that game.

Demon's Souls I feel is the most innovative. I really look forward to Dark Souls to see if they made it even better. Man, I hope I can invite friends into my room.

I would have to say Splinter Cell: DA was one of the best times I've ever had online. Demon's souls, R6V, COD4, 007, battlefield, Midnight Club 3:dub edition, socom,Ghost Recon: Advanced WarFighter 2, and warhawk. probably my top favorite multiplayer games ohh and twisted metal. that was always fun

Kee4642d ago

I think they were thinking more along the lines of competitive multiplayer.

Demon's souls is pretty much mostly single player and co-op with the odd bit of PvP. But it is still a fantastic game.

My choice for number 1 would be CoD4. I miss the simplicity of that game.

EmperorDalek4642d ago (Edited 4642d ago )

I think it could have been one of the best if it was easier to get into a game.

I'm guessing most of the disagree's are from people who haven't played the game.

BiggCMan4642d ago

I agree, I was just gonna put this myself until you said it. I don't think competitive or co-op matters. Demon's Souls is a multiplayer game, and it does it so perfectly. All the people disagreeing have most likely never touched the game, or it's multiplayer aspect.

vickers5004642d ago

CoD2 (on 360) was my first multiplayer game and I had an absolute blast playing it.

I'd also like to add Gears of War 1 to the list, as that was one of the most addictive games I have ever played.

Dovahkiin4642d ago

Call of Duty 2 was a quality game.

ATi_Elite4642d ago

Seriously....Where's Madden?

I'm No Madden fan but come on the game brings people together to play!

thugbob4641d ago

Yes Killzone 2 is a damn good multiplayer game.

frostyhat1234641d ago

Killzone 2 is actually very average.

thugbob4641d ago (Edited 4641d ago )

.
Killzone 2 actually has a very good multiplayer, but of course people like yourself who didn't give the game a chance would think otherwise.

Not a single Halo game? Really?

Dramscus4642d ago

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahaaaaa

ddurand14642d ago

I agree. Halo 3 should probably be on that list.

I personally dont like halo, but i know alot of people that did.

mamotte4642d ago

I'd add the Multiplayer for Conker's Bad Fur Day for N64. Beach mode was priceless... that, and the dinosaurs vs. cavermans.

And seriously, no Bomberman? No matter the version, it's fun to the max. And Wario Ware for Gamecube.

caboose324642d ago

OMG dinosaurs vs. caveman was probably one of the FUNNEST things I have ever played. It completely ruled my childhood.

Kyosuke_Sanada4642d ago

Another disappointing list, where's Halo, Socom, Battlefield 2, Killzone 2, Goldeneye, Guilty Gear, King Of Fighters......

Please no more BEST EVAAAR!! lists for single or multiplayer titles.....

InNomeDiDio4642d ago

Killzone 2 on consoles

Why MW 2019 is still the best looking Call of Duty to date

MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.

MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.

That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.

I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.
