Many gamers have a soft spot for classic games. But is nostalgia stunting the creativity of tomorrow's titles?
BLG writes, "There are many fantastic and iconic weapons in game history, but some are significantly more memorable than others. When we think of iconic game weapons, these are the top 20 that come to mind."
You forgot one and it's a doozy. The weapon is kindness in undertale. :) defeats countless enemies.
Sonic the Hedgehog has a long and turbulent history in videogames, but which are the best games featuring the blue bur?
Generations over Mania? Please… Generations doesnt have any new ideas in the levels/bosses.
Also a top 7 of Sonic games shouldn’t have any 3D crap and contain at least one of the 8-bit titles.
Sonic CD getting snubbed is weird. Number 1 is definitely interchangable between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
Top 7 for me
7 cd
6 mania
5 Frontiers
4 sonic 3
3 sonic 1
2 sonic and knuckles
1 sonic 2
Sometimes I feel like the Sonic Advanced games just didn’t exist with how much it’s always forgotten 😭
Polygon: "To get back to the way Ocarina made us feel, it was necessary to reject almost everything about it."
I generally agree with the author here. However, if I had to point out a single game as the 'anti-Breath of the Wild,' that would be Majora's Mask. Pretty much everything in that game is interconnected, relies on something that the player must have done previously, is timed, and can be considered a puzzle in itself.
but still considered the best of the seties.
i would have liked botw to be more like ocarina.
25 years from today whatever Zelda is out people would too be looking fondly at Breath of the Wild.
Ah the more simple times of the 2020s.
So, Yahtzee says that even Ocarina of Time isn't that good? Somehow not surprising.
It's good, but old. If I drop 250 ( I know it's now 170) on a system I want more than a game that came out 15 years ago! Right now the line up sucks and the only thing to look forward to is another Mario and Mario Kart, oh, wait there is also another game that came out 15 years ago. When I was in middle school and high school I played the crap out of starfox and zelda, but that was 15 years ago. Stop recycling and make something new please Nintendo!
i liked the whole article except for one part
"I admit that Ocarina of Time hasn't aged as gracefully as other games"
OOT has aged amazingly well compared to other titlesits still feels and plays as solidly as it always has and im not talking about the remake
but in the end i guess that could be left to opinion
don't meet your childhood heroes
well the main side effect is realizing it's not that great or it has serious problems or even worse...it's a piece of cr@p.
some times its good to replay some games that you grew up playing, but try not to judge and enjoy it as it is.
Recent Zeldas are more of the same. Ocarina of Time is my favorite 3D game in the series, and I might get a 3DS just to play it again.
