id Isn't Telling Us a Damn Thing About DooM 4 Until RAGE Ships

RipTen: "Many of us trekked down to Dallas, Texas in the 110 degree heat this year in hopes that DooM 4 would be officially unveiled at Quake Con. Sadly, no such unveil took place… but for good reason. From a marketing perspective, it just makes sense NOT to show us a damn thing until RAGE is out the door.

However, that wasn’t enough for me, I had to get the official word."

gotta love shareware. i remember going to the games store just to pay $5 for the shareware disks. them were the days, when developers gave you a third of the game for free.

GameTavern4649d ago

Yeah, if they really wanted to tease people.

Say exclusive Doom teaser at the end of Rage

xPhearR3dx4649d ago

Yeah, yeah, yeah Doom. Bring on RAGE!!!

Haha, I'm somewhat detached from any anticipation of Doom 4, maybe because I never played any of the games, but I am still looking forward to what they're bringing next especially with their new engine

What's cool is you can see some of the animations they kept and revised for 2016.

nirwanda1228d ago

When you strip everything back you can really see how great the animation is.
It's amazing how far games have come.

glenn19791228d ago

For me its always interesting to see some prototype of a game of something else and see the final product on why they go another direction in the end

RaidenBlack1228d ago

My favorite is the MGS:Rising vs MGR:Revengeance.(I preferred the Kojima's one)
Another interesting one is Splinter Cell Conviction Concept vs Retail

spicelicka1228d ago

I don't see what is "COD-like" here? Just because there's 2 seconds footage with ironsight?

Concertoine1228d ago

The devs were openly going for the cinematic shooter style that was popular in the years this was developed. COD-like Doom was pretty much the pitch.

Looks pish, no wonder it got canned.
