Hands-On with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - AusGamers

AusGamers had a chance to actually get hands-on with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and took the game through its paces as much as they could in the time they had.

From the preview:

"There’s no more ice-skating; your character moves with purpose and weight, and looks so much more attached to the world around him. About the only gripe I would offer is that jumping still felt a bit floaty, but certainly not enough to break the game, and when you think about it in a sense of RPGism, the fact you can level up your acrobatic skills means, by and large, it’s a requirement anyway..."

That’s just laughable to me. I think they’ve squeezed all they can out of an 12 year old game

mastershredder3d ago

"Easily" because they see mods, says the gamer. To heck with licensing, terms agreements conditions, etc. all you need to do is belive in mods. Yeah, so real superficial BS yo.

CrimsonWing692d ago

Do people not want to play a new game? Like, I’d rather see 6 than just a prettier version of a game we’ve been playing since the 360/PS3 gen…

Yes please. Did pretty much everything there was to do in this game. Took a very long time and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Skyrim is one of my all-time favorites, but I would prefer a new experience.

anast2d ago

They might as well. So far, it looks like ES6 will be mostly developed by AI.

I don't want a next-gen version of a game I've already played to death. Skyrim was a great game, but I'm over it.

Todd Howard Has No Plans to Retire, Open to Other Studios Making Fallout Games

In a recent interview, Todd Howard revealed that he has no plans to retire and reiterated Bethesda's openness to help from other studios.

DOMination-36d ago

Oh great, now we have to deal with Anasts Bethesda fetish indefinitely.

Thanks a lot, Todd

anast36d ago

You're welcome for the free entertainment. Usually, it comes at a cost of $70 because of inflation.

Crows9036d ago

That's an inflated price...

@Crows

It would be if it weren't a valuable resource.

mastershredder36d ago

"with no plans to retire anytime soon" I mean this is like a common news topic involving his name. Knock it off and do some actual newsing. This is like the biggest "No Duh" article of the day, and several sites had to regurgitate it. Geez. So lame.

"Batman. I like the idea that if I had enough money, time, and vengeance, I could become him." - Todd Howard

This is when he'll retire.

nmbr1esq36d ago

He doesn't have to retire, just the stupid outdated garbage creation engine.

Kados36d ago

Netimmerse 4.0, presumably 5.0 for TES6. They should give the Fallout IP to Obsidian, and have it made in UE5.
