In 5 Minutes: Scrolls are bad Mkay

What's worse than losing one of the best games of the year from your download service?

Well being sued over the word “Scroll” for one thing.

In the show:

Battlefield 3 not coming to Steam.
Bethesda play the "Gamers are idiots" card as they sue Notch.
Not that he cares because he's now planning on buying the Moon after Minecraft has sold over 3 million copies.
In our "Good News" feature Todd Howard has no idea how the console market works; and let's be honest the PS360 is a stupid name anyway.

All that and more on the August 6 edition of the In 5 Minutes podcast

notch got sued?

over what?

also we all know EA are freakin stupid

damn origin

He got sued because a game he is making is called "scrolls". Bethesda Softworks says this is copyright infringement on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. I would also like to point out that it is Bethesda Softworks, the Publisher of Skyrim that is suing, NOT Bethesda Game Studios. Which basically means that the actual developers of Skyrim have nothing to due with the suing.

ZeniMax Media Inc. is an American media company that develops and publishes computer and video games through its subsidiaries. Bethesda Game Studios was acquired in 1999. ZeniMax is suing Notch... get your facts straight...

Without going into in-depth corporate holdings, I believe the point he was making was that Skyrim's developers have nothing to do with the suing of Mojang, which you have indeed just confirmed as correct. Albeit in an overly-anal way trying to put at bay your own insecurities by being correct with unnecessary and pointless trivialities. Loosen up, dude.
