Die Call Of Duty Die – I’ve Had Enough Of This Game

GameJudgment's Nicholas Mastrodicasa says,

"I’ve been playing Call of Duty since the first one came out. I’m a big fan of WW2 based games, so naturally I loved the first two Call Of Duty games.

It’s time to stand up and do something about this before it gets worse. When Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 comes out, don’t bother picking it up. There’ll be plenty of other games to play. Show the studios that we’ve had enough of these recycled peices of shit hitting shelves every November."

who is we? i have never bought a COD but im not int the so called WE group
people need to stop talking like they represent everyone who games
i know ALLOT of people who enjoy COD that aren't kids

if you don't like COD just don't buy it just ignore it ITS THAT SIMPLE
people don't need to go on some COD hate campaign or hope for COD to die just because they don't like the thing

once again IGNORE IT, DON'T BUY IT nothing more its really that simple doing anything else but that just makes you look stupid

consolez_FTW4671d ago (Edited 4671d ago )

I agree with you. Though we shouldn't get all worked up about the MW3 haters or even the BF3 haters. This whole MW3 vs BF3 is just another phase of N4G. After MW3 vs BF3, the comment sections will just be filled with another hot topic and though I prefer BF3, I'm not gonna troll MW3 fans for liking MW3. Like you said, just ignore it!

saladthieves4671d ago

@FasterThanFTL(drives :)

Don't like it?
Don't buy it!

Vote with your wallet. It's as simple as that.

ATi_Elite4671d ago (Edited 4671d ago )

What's Halo?

Seriously if you do not like COD then don't talk about it, write about it, or play it plus no one is forcing you to buy it either.

I talk bad about COD because i think after 60 million units sold Activision should at least give gamers dedicated servers and update the graphics. Other than that the game is what it is.

MidnytRain4671d ago (Edited 4671d ago )

You know, just because you don't like something doesn't mean you should be barred from talking about it. On the contrary, it's important to talk about things we dislike. That's how problems are found and fixed and how ideas are shared. Sharing's what the internet's all about.

LOGICWINS4671d ago (Edited 4671d ago )

"You know, just because you don't like something doesn't mean you should be barred from talking about it."

I agree 100%. Negative opinions weigh just as much as positive ones.

HOWEVER, when a person freely chooses to provide a negative opinion about a game over and over again...this arouses suspicion.

Wouldn't you say its odd that you see the same people pop up in COD threads over and over again to willingly talk about the same complaint that they've stated many times in previous COD articles?

Consider this analogy,

You had a sandwich at Subway and you didn't like it. Would this make you go on the Internet and rant about it at least several times a week for 2 years?

^^I've seen this happen with COD on N4G. Ever since MW2, I see the SAME people complaining about the SAME things. Its okay to have a negative option, but to do it on such a frequent basis on the same topic is rather odd.

Why would a person spend THAT much time/energy complaining about a sandwich/videogame, something so inconsequential to their enjoyment of life?

Dramscus4671d ago

in my opinion this entire argument can be summed up with this short educational video.

"Die Call Of Duty Die – I’ve Had Enough Of This Game"

So uve had enough of COD...yet you take the time to write an entire article about it?

The Internet is funny.

ultrapepe4671d ago

They wrote the article as flame bait to increase the traffic to their website.

LOGICWINS4671d ago

^^Makes sense considering people on the Internet are desperate to hate on almost anything that exhibits a high amount of mainstream popularity.

I owned COD4 for a couple of days and even though I prefer multiplayer games like Uncharted(because I enjoy having vertical freedom of movement) I can understand why people enjoy COD so much.

Its silky smooth and theres a VERY satisfying feeling when you kill someone or get a killstreak.

It could have been my multiplayer game of choice if I had jumped on the COD bandwagon in 2006, but at this point, its hard for me to get good at the game since millions of people out there are pros after so many years of experience.

The only complaint I have about the game is that I suck at it, which isn't really a complaint on the game since its MY fault that I suck at it.

MidnytRain4671d ago

If you feel passionately enough about something, writing can actually be a healthy outlet.

LOGICWINS4671d ago

^^Hmm..I can agree with that.

bloodybutcher4671d ago

@logic
i am with you on this mate,i actually really liked MW mp(i am not a big fan of fps online, only ones i really liked are MW,BFBC2 and KZ2).problem is my skills,or rather lack of them:P still gonna try MW3 though, either rent it or buy it after price drop.no need to hate, nobody is forcing anybody to play!and i think that this year there will be enough games to choose from.so if someone doesn´t like MW then they can get many other games.

you do know that halo requires skill and if a 9 year old is a good player at halo he is probably a good gamer in general.

halo isnt one shot kill like 90% of the FPS multiplayer games about these days.

joab7774671d ago

I've been sick of cod for awhile. I am looking forward to B3 & R3, B3 actually seems to have made some significant improvements, r3 for the single player. Other than that, ill b playing alot of single player this fall and early next year, there's some great stories headed our way, great adventures. For me, this is the year of offline ( though ill b online), ill b by myself or playing some Co op. I cannot say the same for my brother. He says he may try B3 but is giddy about mw3, though i never hear him say anything good about it, save zombies. Oh well, here's to hoping it gets its ass kicked. Its never battled so many triple a games at one time...and ppl are tiring...quickly.

.
The best part of this sob fest was the fact this guy CLAIMS he won't buy COD MW3...lol...He'll be the first one in line.

You can expect more COD articles like this mess on how COD has ruined gaming for releasing ONE game in November...O_o...the fanboys are in panic mode.

" When Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 comes out, don’t bother picking it up. There’ll be plenty of other games to play."...Hmmmmm...

Jeez, Sherlock, what game would you recommend to buy in November...lol...Anybody want to guess what game he thinks everyone should buy. :/

COD has changed the face of gaming, bringing massive investment. It's the biggest entertainment launch of the year, even topping the top movies that have come out.

Did this green bean ever hear of Halo??? Halo 3 is a juggernaut as well selling 12+ million and if that game was a multi-plat it would easily sell as well as COD and has had regular releases. Gears of war, while not at the COD level in terms of sales is still a big seller with 12+ million for 2 games...it's launching this holiday as well with a 3rd installment as are many games...is it the end of the world...of course not. Many games are at part 3 or 4...lol

This fanboy is clueless and trying to tell everyone to not buy a game is rather pathetic and his motives are very suspect. What games does he want everyone to buy in November instead of COD???...lol...that would be very telling, but guess what, he's NOT TELLING, wonder WHY???

consolez_FTW4671d ago (Edited 4671d ago )

"This fanboy is clueless and trying to tell everyone to not buy a game is rather pathetic and his motives are very suspect"-Inside_Out

LoL, you of all people call this author pathetic and clueless, yet in past comments of yours you say BF3 is a MW3 wannabe and the COD series was released before BF! Plus you say COD changed the face of gaming..GTFO

EDIT: "Jeez, Sherlock, what game would you recommend to buy in November...lol...Anybody want to guess what game he thinks everyone should buy. :/"
The author also only mentioned BF once in a list of other games...Don't try imply that the author prefers BF3 when he didn't say that anywhere.

Hockeydud194671d ago

Idc wat every 1 else is buyin. Im buyin skyrim before any shooter game

clarkdef4671d ago

JeffGUNZ4670d ago

Can we please stop calling everyone a "troll"? It's such a nerdy term and everyone is either a troll and/or fanboy on this site. It's pathetic.

When someone doesn't share your opinion, it doesn't make them a troll/fanboy. I am so tired of people making these nerdy accusations when opinions differ.

Boycotting and telling people not to buy the game won't do anything to the series, if anything, Call of Duty could be at risk of being taken away from Activision due to the West and Zampella court battle

Hicken4671d ago

For all of you asking why someone who doesn't like the game would bother writing an article about it- or why the same sort of person would comment on said article- did you consider that maybe they want more content out of the CoD franchise than is currently being offered.

In other words, they want more than what they consider rehashed gaming on an outdated engine.

The problem? So many people buy it that Activision has no reason to consider changing the game. So even if the "haters" have valid points, it gets lost in the love of the millions who don't seem to understand that there's no reason why the game SHOULD be better.

Take inside_out above, for example. This guy totally believes that the CoD franchise is the best thing that ever happened to the FPS genre(despite not being a big fan, I think that more aptly applies to the Halo franchise). Inside_out and others like him will never see any problems with CoD, and they form the voice of the majority of CoD buyers.

Stagnation.

That is the only result possible when the developer and publisher of a franchise listens to such opinions. And why shouldn't they? Increased profit for minimal effort because millions will blindly buy the same game, rebadged, and dub it the "people's champ," as Inside_out does.

The only way things will change is if people who are not fond of this trend speak with their wallets. The problem there: many of these people don't want to miss out on playing with their friends, or want to give CoD the benefit of doubt.

So MW4 will come out, and if it's on current gen consoles, there will be little innovation or change from this year's iteration. And millions will still flock to it.

LOGICWINS4671d ago (Edited 4671d ago )

"did you consider that maybe they want more content out of the CoD franchise than is currently being offered."

But why bother trying to improve a franchise that will likely never improve due to the millions of people that like it the way it is?

You said it yourself that when MW4 comes out, people will flock to it even though it has little improvements.

My point is:

Why should a non-COD fan bother ranting about ways to improve COD when they can spend that time/energy simply looking for another game/franchise that DOES cater to them?

There are many other shooter franchises out there. Halo, Battlefield, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, Gears, Uncharted etc.

Wouldn't it make more sense to completely ignore COD and move on to one of these shooters?

A non-COD fan constantly complaining(a lot of people on N4G do this) about issues with COD is like a 38 year old man complaining about a lack of alcohol at a 10 year olds birthday party.

Instead of trying to get alcohol into the party to make the party better(improving the COD formula), wouldn't it make more sense for this man to just go to a bar(play ANOTHER shooter)?

Hicken4671d ago

Not liking where the franchise is and is headed doesn't mean someone doesn't like a franchise. Sorta the way people hate recent FF entries, but still love the series, overall.

Am I not a fan because I haven't enjoyed CoD in a while? Do I have to be a fan to see that something's wrong with something? What if I WANT to enjoy it, but can't because of these problems I bring up? It's not like most of these people WANT to "hate" on CoD. It's that the game could be so much better, and they know it- and it seems like YOU know it, as well- but it isn't.

I want good games. I don't care who makes them, or what system they're on. I want CoD to be a good franchise, even while Battlefield is a good franchise.

Your last analogy doesn't add up. It would only make sense if there was, for some reason, SUPPOSED to be alcohol at the party; say, for example, that previous parties had, indeed, included alcohol, and recent parties have promised but come up short. THEN it would make sense.

LOGICWINS4671d ago (Edited 4671d ago )

"Do I have to be a fan to see that something's wrong with something?"

Certainly not.

"What if I WANT to enjoy it, but can't because of these problems I bring up?"

I agree. I had similar issues with Uncharted 2, I wanted to enjoy it, but I couldn't because the combat was too fast paced for me. The UC3 beta fixed this.

"It's that the game could be so much better, and they know it- and it seems like YOU know it, as well- but it isn't. I want good games. I don't care who makes them, or what system they're on. I want CoD to be a good franchise, even while Battlefield is a good franchise."

COD could be better, heck, any game could be better in some sort of way...but I would rather gravitate to games that CURRENTLY fit my needs than go on a thread to talk about ways another franchise could be improved.

Your viewpoint is that you want ALL games to be as good as possible. I agree with this viewpoint..but as I said, there are too many other options out there for me to even care about what happens with COD.

If COD were the only FPS franchise in existence, THEN I would be complaining.

Please, can Call of Duty leave awful Netflix-style menus behind

If we’re beating that drum, can we also stop forcing anyone who wants to play only the single player to download Warzone and all updates BEFORE they are then able to do another download from the menu of the single player campaign. I don’t see why I need 150gb of downloads in several ways to play the single player mode only from a bloomin disk which should have that campaign on it already.

Players claim Fortnite ruined Call of Duty by letting in more corporate greed

Do you remember what gaming was like before Fortnite entered the gaming space? One of the biggest arguments was about loot boxes. Now we have conversations about crossovers, battle passes, and community outreach.

gamesandwich.com
GoodGuy0926d ago (Edited 26d ago )

Idk. Loot boxes did disappear and battle passes and in game purchases are all cosmetic. We get free weapons and maps post launch, any gameplay affecting content. I could care less about all the cosmetics.
I absolutely hated the days where weapons were locked behind a less than 1% chance lootbox pull where it'd take 5+ hours to have enough tokens to do a single pull and lazy remastered/remake maps cost you $15 each wave or $50 for the season pass that you didn't know what you'd get and these maps were only available to those that bought it so you get a smaller pool of players match with.

Tacoboto25d ago

The "good ole days" are actually what drove me away from COD and Halo 3/Reach. Halo 4 becoming a COD-like drove me away from that only a week or so after it launched and I beat its campaign.

It sucked way back then, going a month or two without playing online-shooter-of-the-moment, and then needing to buy a $15 map pack to play with the majority of the population or your favorite playlist. The "community" rejecting Spartan Points in MCC killed that game's support, too. No revenue = no support, plain and simple.

Cacabunga24d ago

That headline could easily be something Spencer could have said 😅 I had to check if it was really an opinion piece

KyRo24d ago

As times gone on, the COD battle pass has got ALOT worse so they can push people to buy the more premium battle pass which itself is a huge rip off and nearly half the price of the base game.

The cosmetics can be fine but they've taken it to far to the point of no return. Why make a military themed game then have rabbits, dinosaurs, cats, rats & z list rappers as skins? You wouldn't add a Lamborghini to a fantasy RPG to replace a horse and you would never see Mario have limb dismemberment because they know what they are. COD is having identity crisis but kids and streamer but then all

franwex25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

Call of duty can simply not copy the bad aspects of Fortnite? Or is that too out of this world? Like COD, a realistic shooter-just HAD to have Nicki Minaj running around? Or super heroes?

Inverno25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

Exactly! Trends don't all need to be followed. Plus where Fortnite got somewhat better with it's monetization, Acti got worse. Or at least Fortnite has lended itself more to the wacky stuff, and has put more effort and quality into that stuff.

jjb198125d ago

I prefer the battle passes with free maps than the $50 season pass that divided the community. I definitely feel that Fortnite had some influence on CoD having loot boxes with Blackout being introduced in 2018 with Black Ops 4.

PRIMORDUS25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

Actually Fortnite bullshit ruined Unreal Tournament. Epic are sellouts and I will never have that shitty store on my PC, fuck them and that shit bag Tim Sweeney. At least the community keeps the games alive, I still play UT2004.

StoneTitan24d ago

I mean cant really blame them for supporting the game that made them the most money and the most people player...ever?

Psychonaut8525d ago

Call of Duty ruined Call of Duty. They needed no outside assistance.

Ra303024d ago

100% correct! The makers of Call of Duty ran out of ideas long, long ago so they take ideas from other games like Ghost Recon, Fortnite and any other FPS game hat had success hell CoD remasters maps that they've remastered several times already then charge you again for it. Call of Duty is simply a cut, copy and paste and then put the $70 price on it every year. Activision and now Microsoft has been essentially remastering Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare every year since it was released in 2007 its to the point it's worse than the sports game like the Madden, NBA and others yearly sports franchises.
@Psychonaut85 is spot on "Call of Duty ruined Call of Duty. They needed no outside assistance"!
