GameJudgment's Nicholas Mastrodicasa says,
"I’ve been playing Call of Duty since the first one came out. I’m a big fan of WW2 based games, so naturally I loved the first two Call Of Duty games.
It’s time to stand up and do something about this before it gets worse. When Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 comes out, don’t bother picking it up. There’ll be plenty of other games to play. Show the studios that we’ve had enough of these recycled peices of shit hitting shelves every November."
The developers have provided a little band-aid while PlayStation players attempt to get back into MW3.
Call of Duty games used to be streamlined experiences, but COD 2024’s UI could be another nightmarish clutter of streaming tabs.
If we’re beating that drum, can we also stop forcing anyone who wants to play only the single player to download Warzone and all updates BEFORE they are then able to do another download from the menu of the single player campaign. I don’t see why I need 150gb of downloads in several ways to play the single player mode only from a bloomin disk which should have that campaign on it already.
The UI is confusing to me because I have not purchased a Call of Duty iin like 8 years .Only bought CoD MW3 because 3 of my friends I have known since to 70s are playing zombies . But I am used it now .
The UI is the least of the franchise many problems these days. But yes the UI is also terrible.
Do you remember what gaming was like before Fortnite entered the gaming space? One of the biggest arguments was about loot boxes. Now we have conversations about crossovers, battle passes, and community outreach.
Idk. Loot boxes did disappear and battle passes and in game purchases are all cosmetic. We get free weapons and maps post launch, any gameplay affecting content. I could care less about all the cosmetics.
I absolutely hated the days where weapons were locked behind a less than 1% chance lootbox pull where it'd take 5+ hours to have enough tokens to do a single pull and lazy remastered/remake maps cost you $15 each wave or $50 for the season pass that you didn't know what you'd get and these maps were only available to those that bought it so you get a smaller pool of players match with.
Call of duty can simply not copy the bad aspects of Fortnite? Or is that too out of this world? Like COD, a realistic shooter-just HAD to have Nicki Minaj running around? Or super heroes?
I prefer the battle passes with free maps than the $50 season pass that divided the community. I definitely feel that Fortnite had some influence on CoD having loot boxes with Blackout being introduced in 2018 with Black Ops 4.
Actually Fortnite bullshit ruined Unreal Tournament. Epic are sellouts and I will never have that shitty store on my PC, fuck them and that shit bag Tim Sweeney. At least the community keeps the games alive, I still play UT2004.
.
Cod is played by people with a kd obsession and kids that begged their moms to buy the game for them how sad
.
The best part of this sob fest was the fact this guy CLAIMS he won't buy COD MW3...lol...He'll be the first one in line.
You can expect more COD articles like this mess on how COD has ruined gaming for releasing ONE game in November...O_o...the fanboys are in panic mode.
" When Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 comes out, don’t bother picking it up. There’ll be plenty of other games to play."...Hmmmmm...
Jeez, Sherlock, what game would you recommend to buy in November...lol...Anybody want to guess what game he thinks everyone should buy. :/
COD has changed the face of gaming, bringing massive investment. It's the biggest entertainment launch of the year, even topping the top movies that have come out.
Did this green bean ever hear of Halo??? Halo 3 is a juggernaut as well selling 12+ million and if that game was a multi-plat it would easily sell as well as COD and has had regular releases. Gears of war, while not at the COD level in terms of sales is still a big seller with 12+ million for 2 games...it's launching this holiday as well with a 3rd installment as are many games...is it the end of the world...of course not. Many games are at part 3 or 4...lol
This fanboy is clueless and trying to tell everyone to not buy a game is rather pathetic and his motives are very suspect. What games does he want everyone to buy in November instead of COD???...lol...that would be very telling, but guess what, he's NOT TELLING, wonder WHY???
Boycotting and telling people not to buy the game won't do anything to the series, if anything, Call of Duty could be at risk of being taken away from Activision due to the West and Zampella court battle
For all of you asking why someone who doesn't like the game would bother writing an article about it- or why the same sort of person would comment on said article- did you consider that maybe they want more content out of the CoD franchise than is currently being offered.
In other words, they want more than what they consider rehashed gaming on an outdated engine.
The problem? So many people buy it that Activision has no reason to consider changing the game. So even if the "haters" have valid points, it gets lost in the love of the millions who don't seem to understand that there's no reason why the game SHOULD be better.
Take inside_out above, for example. This guy totally believes that the CoD franchise is the best thing that ever happened to the FPS genre(despite not being a big fan, I think that more aptly applies to the Halo franchise). Inside_out and others like him will never see any problems with CoD, and they form the voice of the majority of CoD buyers.
Stagnation.
That is the only result possible when the developer and publisher of a franchise listens to such opinions. And why shouldn't they? Increased profit for minimal effort because millions will blindly buy the same game, rebadged, and dub it the "people's champ," as Inside_out does.
The only way things will change is if people who are not fond of this trend speak with their wallets. The problem there: many of these people don't want to miss out on playing with their friends, or want to give CoD the benefit of doubt.
So MW4 will come out, and if it's on current gen consoles, there will be little innovation or change from this year's iteration. And millions will still flock to it.
