Most Anticipated Games of Fall 2011

The holiday season is always the time of year when publishers pull out all the stops, releasing their biggest and best titles to capitalize on our willingness to break the bank on gifts. Fortunately, the gaming release calendar has become more balanced throughout the year as of late, but the fall easily remains king. 2011 appears to be no exception, with a seemingly endless offering of top-tier titles. The following are our most anticipated titles of this fall.

Interested to see how Skyward Sword turns out after being in development for so long.

Day 1
Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Phenomenal)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (I like MW series)
Twisted Metal ( I <3 Twisted Metal)
Uncharted 3 (Phenomenal series)

Maybe
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Never played a E.S game, so I might pick this up)
Batman: Arkham City (Never played the first... is it good?)
Battlefield 3 (Im not a BF guy but I'll give it a chance once the reviews from the media and gamers are released) ..

If you go with you "Maybe" choice I really would recomend getting the past games in the Elder Scrolls series (Morrowind or Oblivion) and also get Batman Arkham Asylum.

You really can't appreciate the new games coming out when you havent played the past games.

That's just me though...

If I had to wait until 12/31/11 to buy any more game and I purchased them all at the same time, they would be played in this order:

Skyrim
(Then come Spring) Tie: Dark Souls/Batman AC
Deus Ex
Uncharted 3
Rage
Battlefield 3
Assassin's Creed: Revelations
Ratchet & Clank All 4 One
Twisted Metal
Modern Warfare 3

Please feel free to add disagree and then your own list. I am interested to hear what people have for their priority games. Unlike some, I do not go bat shit crazy when someone disagrees with me. It's called having an opinion.

Pro tip: When playing Gears of War 3 later this month, turn your 360 on it's side.

I'm surprised that Star Wars: The Old Republic isn't on that list! But Skyrim and Uncharted 3 is my two favorites out of that list :)

The prevalence of parrying: Why is it so popular?

i understand the authors frustration i'm not the best at parrying in games. not that i can't complete a game that requires it but it is a definite harder thing for me than other kinds of techniques in games. which might be the main reason it's so heavily added in games nowadays. want to make your game challenging without having to do a lot of work? just add a parry boss. (what i mean by parry boss is a boss you have to beat by parrying such that their attacks will kill you otherwise)

I always think it's fine as long as such games also have the roll/dodge panic button. But I understand the will to parry, it seems so cinematic in a fight when you pull it off.
