The holiday season is always the time of year when publishers pull out all the stops, releasing their biggest and best titles to capitalize on our willingness to break the bank on gifts. Fortunately, the gaming release calendar has become more balanced throughout the year as of late, but the fall easily remains king. 2011 appears to be no exception, with a seemingly endless offering of top-tier titles. The following are our most anticipated titles of this fall.
"Dark Souls: Archthrones is like playing a brand new FromSoftware game, and that speaks volumes about just how much good modding can do," says Hanzala from eXputer.
Parrying has been creeping into more games, with almost every high-profile title of the last few years featuring it in some way. Why?
i understand the authors frustration i'm not the best at parrying in games. not that i can't complete a game that requires it but it is a definite harder thing for me than other kinds of techniques in games. which might be the main reason it's so heavily added in games nowadays. want to make your game challenging without having to do a lot of work? just add a parry boss. (what i mean by parry boss is a boss you have to beat by parrying such that their attacks will kill you otherwise)
I always think it's fine as long as such games also have the roll/dodge panic button. But I understand the will to parry, it seems so cinematic in a fight when you pull it off.

Interested to see how Skyward Sword turns out after being in development for so long.
I really can't wait for Dark Souls. Gonna be awesome.
Pro tip: When playing Gears of War 3 later this month, turn your 360 on it's side.
Games i have preordered,BF3,AC Revelation, Dead iland,Skyrim,Uncharted 3 as of right now. I'm not sold on the ps vita. I think in the long run nintendo is still going be king of handheld.
I'm surprised that Star Wars: The Old Republic isn't on that list! But Skyrim and Uncharted 3 is my two favorites out of that list :)
