3DS Price Drop: Ten Games You Should Buy August 12 (Modojo)

Chris Buffa (Modojo): For millions of gamers worldwide, patience is clearly a virtue. After more than four months of waiting, Nintendo will finally drop the price of its 3DS from $249.99 to a more reasonable $169.99.

I'm going to wait for Super Mario 3D and Mario Kart 3D. They will be AWESOME!

Buff10444667d ago

You can't go wrong waiting. More to choose from, I say! :)

I might actually buy me a 3DS so I can play it until the Vita comes out. It has some neat games for it coming out. I haven't had a handheld since my PSP a couple years back.

SpaceSquirrel4667d ago

3DS have some good games so far with a few great ones coming as well.

Buff10444667d ago

Definitely. Now that it's $169.99, everyone should grab one. :)

blumatt4667d ago (Edited 4667d ago )

Doesn't Nintendo kinda have to drop the price since the PS Vita is going to be at the same price point of $250. If they both were to be the same price, alot of people would grab the Vita for its graphics, cross platform gameplay, online, party chat, etc. etc. over the 3DS. Of course, you've got your Nintendo fanatics who'll buy the 3DS anyway, but you've also got people who compare features of handhelds before they buy. That's not to say that the 3DS doesn't have any cool features (3D display, etc.), but the Vita certainly has more.

Either way, this is a smart move by Nintendo and great for people wanting to pick up a 3DS. Thank you, Nintendo. I knew there would be a price drop before the Vita showed up on store shelves.

I'm waiting for Animal Crossing, hopefully a better version will be out by then (I might cave in if Kid Icarus and Mario Kart are good though).

$169.99 for glasses less 3D need I say more!!

archemides5184667d ago

for 150 or less it's a maybe, and i'm a pretty big 3d enthusiast. i got a 135" 3d projector, and a fuji w3 3d pic/video camera...and learning from that glassesless 3d is more of a hassle than it's worth, but the difference with the camera is that you can always see it's products later in perfect 3d, while the 3ds visuals are in real-time. so if you move it the wrong way for a second and it messes up (not to mention pressing buttons all the time moves it around anyway).

i already played all those games

and mario kart will be the same exact thing all over again (for the 4th time)

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the anti-Breath of the Wild

Polygon: "To get back to the way Ocarina made us feel, it was necessary to reject almost everything about it."

Ocarina of Time changed my life forever, such a masterpiece

Zeldafan64136d ago

Hard to believe it's 25 years old already.

Cacabunga136d ago

The feeling this game gave me the first time i had my hands on it is indescribable.. i still get the chill from that day..
botw is like a spin off of the series.. it’s fun but with many flaws and the most important which is Zelda formula isn’t there..

FinalFantasyFanatic135d ago

I can't even remember how many times I played through OoT, I finished that game, and collected everything so many times.

Vits136d ago

I generally agree with the author here. However, if I had to point out a single game as the 'anti-Breath of the Wild,' that would be Majora's Mask. Pretty much everything in that game is interconnected, relies on something that the player must have done previously, is timed, and can be considered a puzzle in itself.

gold_drake136d ago

but still considered the best of the seties.

i would have liked botw to be more like ocarina.

franwex136d ago (Edited 136d ago )

25 years from today whatever Zelda is out people would too be looking fondly at Breath of the Wild.

Ah the more simple times of the 2020s.

It isn't...

Zelda: Ocarina of Time - A Legend 25 Years in the Making

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time debuted 25 years ago, forever changing the face of video games and becoming a legend of its own.

Number1TailzFan168d ago

I used a guide to beat part of it but some of the rest myself, still enjoyed it regardless. Too bad they didn't stick with this kind of gameplay for the rest of the series as I would prefer it over what they're doing now.

TheBrainZ168d ago

A definitive moment in video game history. Played it countless times, and Zelda was the best reason to own an N64.

FinalFantasyFanatic168d ago

I played through OoT so many times on the 64, then I bought it on the 3DS before the Eshop shut down. I wish we could have a Zelda collection like we did for Mario, I still can't believe that never happened.
