That's a really good interview.

Robert Bowling never really answers the questions directly though.

Hmmmm...

blumatt4676d ago (Edited 4676d ago )

I hope Quickscoping has been taken out of this one. I can't stand people who do that. It's just, for lack of a better word, retarded. haha I'm sort of excited for this game, but I hope it plays more like CoD4 and less like MW2 and Black Ops. I want the gameplay to rely more on YOU actually doing the killing and NOT YOUR PERKS! I can't stand seeing some guy get like 10-15 kills in a row from a harrier or a gunship up in the air just killing people like crazy. And the planes shouldn't stay in the air nearly as long as they do. I'm thinking like 15-20 seconds max or make it like in CoD4, where you could actually take the planes and helicopters down with a reasonable amount of ammo. I can empty every last bullet I've got into a helicopter in MW2 and it'll take me 2 or 3 deaths to destroy it.

Also, I wish they'd bring the price of map packs down to like $10. Even that is too high, but that's more reasonable. Either that or give us more than 5 maps for that $15. And while I'm on that subject, I think we should be able to use the dlc from the previous MW games on the new game. It's ridiculous to buy the dlc and then not be able to use it once the new game comes out. Hell, if you bought all the map packs for Black Ops and the game new, you spent right at $100+ for that game. That's crazy, unless the map packs could carry over.

They ought to give us dedicated servers (on consoles) as well considering the amount of money this game brings in.

DarkTower8054675d ago (Edited 4675d ago )

If you're tired of the Blops killstreak and perk system there are barebones game types that takes care of that.

Btw, IW please give me a great bolt action rifle, like the M40A1.

kingjoker344675d ago

the M40A1...brings back so many memories xD

perdie4675d ago (Edited 4675d ago )

@ blumatt its not infinity ward that decides the prices of things. It the evil giant that is activision

49erguy4670d ago

@blumatt A lot of those reasons are the reason I will never buy COD new. They don't do anything about the hacked rooms, glitchers, dedicated servers yet they easily are the richest game company ever.

They then have the audacity to still charge 10 dollars for a 4 year old map pack (COD4) on a game filled with hackers, not to mention the 15 dollars for 4 maps.

chriski3334675d ago

why do they keep showing clips from black ops?

DtotheRoc4671d ago

LOL! yeah...it does worry me too cod4 on pc owned mainly cuz lobbies with admins if they bring that back i'd probably pick this game even though i have learned to absolutely despise the cod formula mainly for it's ower-powered killstreaks, boring map design, and horrendous spawn system that makes trapping FAR too simple.

-Alpha4676d ago (Edited 4676d ago )

Beats around the bush too much but understandable that he can't go into detail yet

Just hope MW3 retains the roots of MW1 but more important than that, the series needs an overhaul.

MW3 needs dedicated servers, a ton of new modes/community features like Halo has for free, and needs to overhaul everything from prestige/ranking to unlocking weapons to killstreaks.

MW1 to MW2 was a sequel-worthy jump, but they went in a horribly unbalanced direction that sucked the soul out of COD4. I hope that MW3 can refresh the experience, but they need to reinvent everything they have IMO, down to the small things that people have become too familiar with

Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst

evrfighter4675d ago (Edited 4675d ago )

I see this so much. Going back to cod4 roots. You know I used to gain killstreaks, die, then do it again. I also used to strap on 3 nades and spam nades everything along with everyone else.

cod4 graphics, gameplay and gunplay hasn't changed. It's the same game with a bloated perks and killstreak system. So you're telling me. If they went and stripped these elements then you'd be happy?

Go play cod4 dude. The only difference between infinity ward games and treyarch games is that iw makes insanely good maps. That is why cod4 is so memorable to you guys. But you can kiss that goodbye because all of iw's talent has moved on to ea.

DtotheRoc4671d ago

cod4 isn't playable on teh console whatsoever...unfortunatley no cod is. so don't even say that man. you only spammed grenades cuz the admin didn't kick you for being a douche. dont' bring that garbage play into SD that[s for sure. the killstreaks and Pro-perks need to be removed entirely and go back to cod4's roots. it's teh best in teh series anyone will agree with this. the map design yes was awesome indeed buyt the it was the extremely balanced gameplay and control or lobbies by admins that made that game so pro. mw2 and black ops both are polluted by garbage 15 year olds that are both annoying and not even legally allowed to have teh game lol

xX TriiCKy Xx4676d ago

I may actually get this if only for the sniper lobbies. I am a sniper, plain and simple. No matter what shooter it is, if there's a sniper rifle in it, you'll find me sniping. :)

DarkTower8054675d ago

As long as the maps are big with good spots for the sniper lobbies. I wouldn't want to play a sniper match in a cqc map.

trenso14675d ago

do you actually use the scope or are you just another kid using that "quick scope" nonsense? everyone says "ima sniper, ima sniper" but i never actually see some one sniping just a guy running like a chicken with out a head QS people. they arent snipers and will never be in my book.

xX TriiCKy Xx4674d ago

I can't quick scope. At all. I snipe the way I was meant to.

Holding my breath while aimed down the scope. I get called a hard-scoper all day, and it doesn't bother me a bit.

ShadowReaper144671d ago

i hate quick scoping to. it's not that i can't do it. it's that i don't want to do it. to me it feels like cheating. it's a bunch of bullsh*t i haate people who say "ur a hard scoper" im sorry first it's called sniping. and second it's the way ur supposed to snipe. i can't believe there putting quick scoping back into call of duty. it wrecked MW2.

Average_Joe4676d ago

Fantastic interview. He is very well spoken. Glad to hear they are taking the fan feedback and incorporating it into their games.

Welshy4675d ago

you must have been hearing a different guy speak, maybe you are referring to the host?

He was speaking in riddles, beating about the bush and going round in circles repeating himself.

Robert Bowling has always been that way, he doesn't seem to have the ability to have a straight answer to a straight question.

DualSight4676d ago

I believe MW3 will blow everyone's expectation.

Call of Duty Players Disappointed by $80 B.E.A.S.T. Glove Bundle Deal

Recently, players of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone were met with a new bundle featuring the B.E.A.S.T. Glove, inspired by King Kong's armament in the Godzilla x Kong movie. However, the $80 price tag attached to this themed accessory left many Call of Duty fans feeling underwhelmed.

Morons that allow themselves to be milked continuously by this company is the definition of irony.
Spend more $$ and you'll end up In easier lobbies so you win both ways when ya spend that cash

melons34d ago

Controversy in the COD community feels like it happens within an alternate timeline. Activision will take the piss with something, there will be a momentary fuss about it, and then they will forget about it and carry on anyway. Repeat this cycle literally every year for the rest of time.

Gridknac34d ago

They call that a crack head! Thats what this is really about, its an addiction. People who dont smoke cigarettes look and laugh at the addicts that spend $8-$10 a pack, but they cant help themselves, they are addicted. That same analogy applies perfectly to the whole MT industry. Only an addict that was not thinking clearly would spend this kind of money on something so frivolous. A round of multiplayer provides the same high a person gets from scratching a lotto ticket, or putting money on a sports bet. MT in general need to really be regulated because you have a generation of kids becoming adults who grew up only knowing the MT era of gaming. Its normal to them and they will in turn teach their kids the same by just being a gaming parent and getting their kids involved with them in gaming. Thats why no matter how ridiculous the headlines keep getting out of the MT industry, it never seems to fade or go away.

X-2332d ago

I'm so tired of hearing about what they're doing with this game, its never going to change and it's never going to value the consumer over money, furthermore the people who engage so heavily in the microtransactions I guess allegedly are having a blast and can't wait to do it some more this year when the new version of the game drops.

Cheech And Chong Are Coming To Call Of Duty Because Everything Must Be Consumed

The famous comedy duo is the latest example of pop culture becoming one big grey blob

Christopher48d ago

Certain to have some sort of reference to their online store for CBD/THC chews, which is advertising heavily online the last month or two.

Sciurus_vulgaris48d ago

The randomness of the multiplayer characters is one of reason I quit playing COD after briefly returning in 2022. We got Space Marines, rappers, tree monsters etc. all in a series called “ Modern Warfare”.

OtterX48d ago (Edited 48d ago )

I think if there was ever a time for a competitor to rise up and take away some of Call of Duty's thunder, the time would be now. A military shooter that takes itself seriously, not sold out to Fortnitism. Easier said than done, I know... but the time is ripe.

I can't stand this stuff either.

Palitera48d ago

There are tons of MP shooters that make no profit, if you're looking for one of those

fsfsxii48d ago

You guys have been saying this shit since 2009. Fortunately, nobody’s bringing down cod anytime soon, if ever.

crazyCoconuts48d ago

I agree. I really didn't like how the silliness takes away the gritty origins. That and all the crazy effects... dunno. I'm still playing it but I'd love for someone to steal their cheese and cater to grittier players

OtterX48d ago

@fsfsxii It's not so much wanting COD itself to die as it is wanting this silliness to die. Like CrazyCoconuts said, it takes from the grittiness. Many OG COD players want a straightup Military shooter experience, not silly costume time at Carnival.

is this what the kids want these days a pair of iconic stoners who were big in the 70s and have kind of held on I enjoyed their movies decades ago but I never recall the movie where cheech infiltrates a enemy base while chong snipes for support guess I must of missed that one

Man I'm getting to old for this

Knightofelemia48d ago (Edited 48d ago )

Cheech just looks so wrong in the picture.

Profchaos48d ago

Why just why. cod up in smoke

anast48d ago

They charge too much for a game that is kitsch.
