Battlefield 3 outpacing Black Ops pre-orders

Recent pre-order figures for the game are pacing it ahead of last year's smash hit, Call of Duty: Black Ops. Does that mean that Battlefield 3 will sell more than Black Ops?

im pretty sure thats how it is with the majority of those who will buy the game

Or it is because it is an actual sequel for Battlefield 2, people have been waiting ages for BF3 to be announced/confirmed.

Instead we got BF:BC1 and 2, even though these games are great. But everyone knows that the actual games like BF1, 2 and 3 are the ones that are new and improved. Eg Better engine, graphics etc.

As for your statement... I dont really care cos I will eventually play both games. Obviously I will be getting BF3 first :)

Solid pre order numbers are always a good sign.

But outselling Black Ops? I don't think so, Black Ops is one of the very few games that can get less than 1 million pre orders and go on to sell 20 million.

I find it very difficult to honestly believe Battlefield 3 even has a chance at over taking Black Ops lifetime sales.

That doesn't mean BF3 is a bad game, but COD has a very large following. I can see BF3 hitting 10 million on consoles alone, just not 20 million.

The thing is that BF3 will deliver a True Next Generation Military FPS for the Gamers, especially for PC Version.

MW3 is not even worth to mention. Looks like a generation below from BF3.

Battlefield will start of great, a designed move by EA. Then it will be traded in by the millions as well when MW3 launches. That is why they are launching beside COD MW3. They are parasites and as the game play that has leaked clearly shows...completely out matched by MW3. They did the same thing with MOH...it will end the same as well. Paid $9.99 for MOH a couple of months ago...lol

Activision is giving EA-Dice all the rope they need to hang themselves. The Battlefield Multi-player is broken with numerous bugs, in particular the lighting that looks launch title like, clunky animations and depth of field similar to something you find in a last gen game...O_o...does anybody really think this will beat MW3...lol...

Possible, but out of place. What about Medics? They don't have anyone to revive. The game is made from the ground up as a team-based, class-based shooter. It wouldn't fit in and wouldn't really feel like Battlefield.

We've been kidding ourselves for two years straight when it comes to FPS games out-selling Call of Duty, sadly none of them have been able to. Now with MW3 being arguably the biggest Call of Duty game to come out and Black Ops destroying records last year, I don't think so. Also pre-order numbers say nothing as the sales numbers are often much larger for AAA games.

I think most people are hesitant to preorder mw3 after black ops because of the many problems that game had at launch. I bought black ops day 1 for ps3 and it was possibly the buggiest game I had played in a very long time. Couldn't play continuously online for more than 10min or so.

So I know I'll be waiting until after release before I even consider buying.

With battlefield on the other hand I feel pretty safe preordering because I've never had problems with battlefield games.
