@XG247: With Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine just around the corner and with exclusive DLC for said game available to those who complete a mission in Kill Team, there are some gamers out there questioning whether this is a game which enjoyed the time, consideration and man-hours it deserved or if it’s just been churned out the door to capitalise on the hype surrounding Space Marine and is just a short term money spinner. I went into this game hoping it would be good as we really love Warhammer 40k and the universe the races live in. Some would say this makes me biased towards the game, but I’d say the opposite. The love I have for the 40k legacy means that if I feel any part of this game is flawed or hasn’t had the time it deserved then I’m going to wedge a chainsword in there and pull it apart. While the AAA side of the industry tends to homogenization and imitative, cinematic presentation, “AA” games remain creative and innovative in 2021. Drawing on inspirations as varied as Dark Souls, third person shooters & kung fu cinema, Biomutant is Ratchet & Clank on acid, developed by a team of 20 people.
Remember THQ? They published such games as Avatar: The Last Airbender, Darksiders I & II, the Destroy All Humans series, Homefront, the Red Faction series, and Saint's Row 1-3. Almost as famous as their games were the THQ marketing stunts, including a Golden Wii.
