It's interesting that after so long being absent from video games, that rugby now has two high-profile games coming out

Same thing happened with MMA games, UFC Undisputed came out then EA were all over it like a rash and released their own title.

Irony being that EA snubbed the idea of an MMA game prior to that which resulted in THQ picking up the idea and they done a cracking job of it. EA opened their eyes and saw dollar signs so released some half assed effort to at least get some of the market share for that genre.

Well, Rugby is a big part of Australia/NZ, so the fact the RWC is closer to home I think got people motivated about the sport. Plus, its sad how there are about a billion and one soccer and football and baseball and various other sports games made in America, for american audiences, yet when it comes to international sports, it isnt given the fair attention it deserves.

All in all, cant wait for both games.

To be honest even if the games fail to meet expectations i would still expect them to sell really well.

First Rugby games of this generation and there are a lot of people who love rugby just as much as other sports so theres a huge market for it.

I am really looking forward to this!

They should call it Rugby 2012, that way once the inevitable sequels start appearing we won't have to buy the 'Advertised as being completely revolutionised, all we really done is updated the team rosters' within 6 months of this being released.

The Twelve Games of Christmas 2011 – Day Eight: August

Skirting around the end of summer and quickly approaching the mad autumn rush, a few select publishers made the wise decision to release some of their hottest properties a little earlier. Deus Ex: Human Revolution would Electronic Theatre Imagearguably have received plenty of attention whenever it launched, but for a franchise appealing to an audience that has long since been governed by the likes of Gears of War, Uncharted et al, launching a little earlier than the latest instalments in those series was surely a smart move.

Review: Rugby World Cup 2011 (This Is My Joystick)

We know that there haven’t been many Rugby games which have captured the imagination of gamers. Even horse racing games have had a more successful run than egg-chasing. For a time, it seemed like development houses had given up on them altogether, as they’ve been notably lacking this gen. It’s been four years since the last Rugby Union game, after all.
