Why the hell doesn't this guy just play PC games? You can use whatever button maps or input devices you want...

rabidpancakeburglar4703d ago

It's for disabled gamers

*massive facepalm*

Kreyg4703d ago (Edited 4703d ago )

Why should he be forced to play PC games is the real question. Sure you can remap to anything you want, but when you read through the comments on Chuck's petition, you realize it's a feature almost 80,000 people have said they want on consoles. Hell, you'd think that after all these years, it's a feature you'd see on console games.

*Why the hell doesn't this guy just play PC games?*

Maybe he dosen't have the time or money to build one and how about showing some respect for disabled gamers.

Pandamobile4703d ago

How am I disrespecting the guy? Common sense would dictate that given his situation, he'd want to be able to play games in a way that suits him.

If he wants controller remapping and an invertible Y axis, all he has to do is go into the settings for just about any computer game and change them to suit his needs.

Urrakia344703d ago

I fail to see how Panda disrespected him. Stop getting your panties in a bunch.

BattleAxe4703d ago (Edited 4703d ago )

Give it a rest Panda, people like you are relentless in telling people what platform they must play their games on. Yeah the PC is great, but not everyone wants to game on the PC. You're happy when Valve heavily supports their games on PC, but when they support the console version you hate it....get over it.

On a positive note, good on Valve for supporting their game as well as they are.

Ser4703d ago (Edited 4703d ago )

What if he just doesn't want to? I wouldn't want to.

He shouldn't have to pick a certain platform just because he's disabled. That's stupid.

Edit: I agree, which is my more developers need to open their eyes to this sort of thing. Still, he shouldn't be forced to game on a PC just because of his disability. What if he wanted to play a game like Uncharted 3? More developers should start supporting this type of thing.

Pandamobile4703d ago

He shouldn't be forced to play games without unmappable controls, either.

That's stupid.

Ser4703d ago

Spelling correction: "which is *why*"

Adexus4703d ago (Edited 4703d ago )

If you've seen him play games then you'll know he has his controller right up to his face and he uses his chin to move the right analog stick, now it might just be me but it might be a little bit trickier for him to play with a keyboard and mouse...

Pandamobile4703d ago (Edited 4703d ago )

WOW. DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN USE A CONTROLLER ON A PC TOO?

Seriously, you guys, do some research.

Ocelot5254703d ago

"Seriously, you guys, do some research."

like you should do about half life 2 HDR effects on the console and PC

Wow congratulations Chuck, good to see developers like Valve listening.

Lord_Sloth4703d ago

This is a feature I really want in my games. I don't know why so many devs are neglecting this feature now. It used to be pretty common.

FAGOL4703d ago

Anyone know or have an idea why console games don't have custom button remapping? Because I can't think of any.
