they look nice but it's hard to tell how good it really is with such low resolution screens. Why don't devs release 1080p+ screens for PC games?

wallis4674d ago

Much stronger art direction than crysis 2 from the looks of it.

New York gets pretty boring fast when it's just skyscraper after skyscraper.

Klaykid1234674d ago

And the fact that it is New York.

.
I thought New York would make a great setting and it did. I guess it is a matter of perspective.

I think Crytek could of done more in terms of locations but they obviously had a middle-ware agenda and did the best they could. Grand central station and Central park among others were fantastic. The game had such great verticality.

It looked to me like there were 2 games...one was the pre-Halo Reach and the other was the post Halo Reach. Their bravado toned down when Reach was shown in early 2010...lol. Halo Reach was the game that showed these guys they had to step up...it's not a coincidence both games share the exact same rez among other things. Bulletstorm and Gears was another obvious target as Epic and Unreal middle-ware is their biggest competitor.

Crysis 2 look incredible and is the game to beat, in terms of graphics, on consoles right now and from what I've seen so far, it doesn't look like anyone will do it...

I'm so sick of movies and games being made in New York that i throw up every time i see one.

San Francisco, Seattle, Phoenix, Chicago, Los Angeles, Prague, Moscow, Washington D.C., Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Dubai, Berlin, London, Paris, Istanbul, Bangkok are all iconic cities that more movies and games should use as the back drop.

New York is BORING! and these screen shots are old as well as this article being a duplicate but the game looks nice.

Throw up? Maybe someone got your ego pregos?

Arnon4674d ago

Why is it that graphics are literally the only thing people care about now? Did anyone forget that Sniper: Ghost Warrior wasn't a bad looking game to begin with? Did everyone also forget how mediocre it was and how it basically fit perfectly in the FPS line of average titles?

How about we start caring about the actual gameplay itself and the fun factor rather than the story and graphics. Outside of a few titles, the biggest games in history hardly ever used these two factors to shape a genuinely good game.

On a side note:

Good graphics :P

Cause we live in a world where looks are what comes first.
Everybody judges on looks to a certain extend, whether its a painting, a car, a lover, or a game.

Looks draw people in, everything underneat is what keeps us coming back.
Its the way humans are designed.
Dont like it? blame god, or mother nature, which ultimately can be considered god as well.

Bay4674d ago

I would like to see more POM and Tesselation in the game...too much to expect, I guess.

Nice screens, but that won't help the game if it ends up like the first.

Lazy_Sunday4674d ago (Edited 4674d ago )

I don't want to spoil anyone's fun here, but this game is going to look like Crysis 2 looked on consoles. 25FPS, ugly unless you're standing still, and lots of framerate drops.

Rightfully so...

Except ARK is an early access, which either means it's either alpha or beta. Don't get me wrong! I'm looking forward to the game, it's on my wish list, but I will not pay money for something that is not fully complete.

Long gone are the days of "Free Beta."

GhostTurtle3251d ago (Edited 3251d ago )

Thats too bad, because the game is the pc equivalent to crack.

ChrisW3251d ago

No... WoW and EQ are.

GhostTurtle3251d ago

WoW and EQ where. *fixed*

ChrisW3250d ago

Oh my... The past tense of the "be" verb for third person plural is "were." Not "where."

-Embarrassing!!!-

Koopdogg3251d ago

ARK is only out a wet week with less than a year developement released as EA so YEH it's in alpha.

Has had more content on release than nearly any other early access title and more patches in a week than most titles in a month to even six months.

What in gods name are you complaining about????????

Awesome i like your statement above, you're a perfect candidate to stay away and be kept away from EA game development because with above statement,i wish more people would be like you , who go an buy EA games and start whining and ranting bcos they don't grasp its concept would just follow you.
