It’s painful to watch how badly Nintendo struggles with this stuff. It’s not so bad for the Americans – they can enjoy a Netflix service. For the rest of the world, though, Nintendo Video simply does not cut it as a non-gaming entertainment application on a console.
Nintendo Insider writes:
Aardman Animations’ Shaun the Sheep 3D shorts will make their return to Nintendo Video this week, Nintendo of Europe have announced.
Nintendo of America have announced the latest content to be made available through the Nintendo DSi Shop and Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS.
Synthpop is coming to your Nintendo 3DS this week as Mountain King, the latest single from the MTV EMA award-winning band The KOLIN, launches in stereoscopic 3D on the Nintendo Video channel. The Hungarian band fromBudapest formed in 2008 and is famous for mixing analogue synths and living sounds harking back to the 1980s and 1990s, with dirty guitar sounds and groovy drums.
The real question is how you can review a video application that will be updated over time based on what is on there when it's first available. Shouldn't you at least wait to see what kind of content will be offered? Like a week or 2. Seems like this writer may have jumped the gun a bit.
Meanwhile, I give Netflix 3ds 8.5/10 all the content but retrieving does seem to take slightly longer.
