Sony Online Entertainment Expands Star Wars Universe with New Clone Wars Adventures Storyline

George Lucas has been at the forefront of transmedia, long before the term became a buzz word in Hollywood. Lucas’ Star Wars universe has continued to expand into new media, video games and digital experiences for decades. This year has already seen bestselling games like LucasArts’ LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars and anticipation is building for BioWare’s Star Wars: The Old Republic massively multiplayer online (MMO) game from Electronic Arts. Now, younger Star Wars fans are in for a new type of collaboration between Sony Online Entertainment (SOE), LucasArts and Lucasfilm surrounding Cartoon Networks’ “The Clone Wars” TV series and the virtual game world, Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures.

Great to hear that other, other Star Wars MMO is getting attention. Never in my wildest dreams had I expected such a prodigious amount of entangled stories in such a simple 3 year period, let alone so many epic tales when Obi-Wan first stated it in Epi IV.

I loved this game and have played since launch but don't let this article fool you, this game is a step above life support. While they are still technically updating the game, the updates are few and far between and there is a significant lack of quality control, so many little bugs that have been present for years.

They promoted it as an expansion yet offered like 3-4 hours of content. The game is amazing and easily one of the best Star Wars games ever made but content drops are so few and far between.
