Half-Minute Hero was an interesting experience for me. One that didn’t give me the best impression at first. The story of it is that an evil lord has been spreading a spell to other creatures and evil doers that will destroy the world in 30 seconds. You play the role of a hero who comes on the scene right when the spell is casted, and you have 30 seconds to defeat the one who casted the destruction spell.
Welcome back to Xbox One UK's regular reflection; where we take a look at the list of Xbox 360 titles that became backwards compatible in the last month, and try to point out a couple of highlights. This month had one clear winner of course.
EDGE: "The only long-winded thing about Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy is its name. It might look like an RPG, it might affectionately mock RPGs, but what we really have here is a bright, brisk puzzler dressed up in a delightfully cheap and tacky fancy dress RPG costume. It’s glib, achingly net-savvy in its humour and entirely irreverent in its tone. I think it’s one of the most sophisticated parodies that games have seen."
Destructoid: "Check out this mysterious image (get a better look in our gallery) that magically appeared before me early this morning. Some of the information, like a date of September 27, is clear. But the rest? Well, I had to look at it for awhile."
