Anyone who has ever played a game by Suda 51 will universally know one thing; it’s going to be crazy. With titles like No More Heroes and Killer 7, it’s always expected that any game coming out of the woodwork will be as weird and surreal as the next. Well, the third-person demon-blasting Shadows of the Damned does not hold back any punches in maintaining such a trend. But is it worth the trip to Hell?
CGM Writes: While we were over at PAX East, we were able to sit down with Goichi Suda (Suda51) and talk about the upcoming remaster of Shadows of the Damned
Game Rant talked to Suda51 about a potential sequel to Shadows of the Damned, and here's what he had to say.
Man, I’d love to get a sequel. I wish that’s was this was instead of a remaster, but it’s such a niche title. It won’t sell gamgbusters, unfortunately.
Electronic Arts has announced a number of server closures in the coming months, including Apex Mobile and the 2012 Syndicate reboot.
Syndicate's big saving grace will soon be erased for good. I'll give *some* credit to EA in keeping servers up for 10+ years.
Oh yeah, an actual cyberpunk game. I have fond memories of the old bullfrog Syndicates.
Syndicate was a fun and high quality late PS3 fps that got swallowed in the sea of fps at the time. It was short and it didn't innovate but it had good visuals and fun combat. Starbreeze i believe. Rip Torn and Rosario Dawson.
Really, what is with UK reviewers giving this game lower scores?
3/5 isn't bad but come on. Pull the sticks out of your asses. The last thing gaming "journalism" needs is more jaded Europeans.
Dude its my opinion, not as a "jaded European" as you put it, but as a passionate gamer. I thought that Shadows of the Damned was a great game. But Im not going to give it an epic score when I dont beleive it deserves it. I write reviews as a journalist for one reason; to give an accurate opinion for anyone who maybe skeptical in buying a game. Everyone may not agree, and obviously you don't. Thanks for the opinion, as of course, everyone is entitled to one... gamers and journalists alike.
That is an above average rating that I beleive Shadows of the Damned deserves. I will stick with what I said and say that I DID enjoy it, and that it is worth a go. But with the number of flaws that I encountered, Shadows of the Damned is not an amazing game, but, at the most, great. Like I've continued to say, it is my opinion, something that everyone is entitled to. So Im sorry that Im not jumping on the band-wagon, and giving this game an epic score, just because others think differently. I mean look at IGN = 7/10, GameTrailers = 6.7/10, Eurogamer = 7/10. Its all opinion, theres no other way about it.
For starters Hicken, my review says it was good. What I mean is that there are great aspects of the game, including black comedy and art direction. I dont ask you to read my reviews, so if you dont agree with my opinion, shape up and move on.
