Rumor: New Fatal Frame Game In Development For The PS3?

It appears that Tecmo Koei is working on a new Fatal Frame game for the PS3.

But what motivated the switch from Wii to PS3?

Hmm maybe its a combination of the previous title selling poorly in Japan and the fact that it never got a release outside of Japan whereas the 3 before on PS2 got released worldwide.

I actualy got to play FF4, Had to go to Japan to get the game though =/ still was worth it, one of the best in the franchise imo =)

Nintendo screwed all us western fans over big time! I'm a big ninty fan but i will never forgive them for not releasing FF4 outside of Japan =/

to be honest, i know the system is not out yet, but this game would be perfect for the Wii U. Although i would be happy to see it on the PS3.

the reason btw, i brought that up was because of how the controls work on the Wii U. Making the Controller work like a camera would be a pretty cool idea.

I guess the Wii titles sold poorly (no surprise seeing the Wii demographic). Plus with the Wii U coming out, there is no telling what kind of success it will bring. With Nintendo's stocks dropping after they announced it, I guess developers are thinking twice before making a Wii exclusive. And of course they're not making it exclusive to the 360 since the Fatal Frame franchise is a niche series and we all know how badly those sell on the 360. Plus it's a Japanese game.

Most of the Wii's fanbase is young and wouldn't be able to appreciate the atmosphere of a Fatal Frame title.

Indeed. Well done to the fan made localisation too-meant mne and my mate managed to finally play FF4 a while back now. definitely the best reason to have CFW on your Wii even if Nintendo should NEVER have made it a necessity considering the ready, loyal fanbase the series already boasted in the US and EU/UK. Worst decision of the whole generation where localisation is concerned and right up there with taking VC to PSP and then not giving anyone in the west the chance to play the last one anyway.

What is it with localisation and Japanese publishers this gen-thanks a lot Ninty and thanks a lot Sega and here's hoping Ninty's deal for FF has died.

And BTW that loalise/translation patch was worthwhile if it's still available and the game was really cool too.

Actualy we do have the third game in the west atleast here in the UK. Its called "Fatal Frame III: The Tormented" if you havent played it yet you should! Great game if your a fan of FF I highly recomend it =)

Its the forth game that wasnt released in the west "Fatal Frame Mask of the Luner Eclipse" I maniged to play it all the way through when i went to Japan, Great game... we got screwed over big time by Nintendo =/ heres hoping we get it in the west oneday.

Im glad to see so many people interested in FF (or project Zero here in the UK) =) One of my all time favorate franchises. I enjoyed playing each installement ( even Project Zero 4! had to go to Japan for that one though, Thanks Nintendo =.=) Project Zero II Crimson Butterfly Directors cut was my favorate I think, Must have finished that game 10 times.

Here's hoping we do get a 5th
