Sonic Generations: First Impressions Demo

Well today marks the 20th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog, and what better way to celebrate then to play the demo for Sonic Generations.

This game should have been Sonic 4 instead of the disaster and dissapointment we played....what if the other episodes ( bad idea to begin with) are cancelled by this point. Plays great and looks great and finally a sonic game dedicated to its roots.

But however still not sold on the 3D bits....

however one thing missing thought is the classic SEEEEEEEGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA chime instead of the current modern Sega tone. They should consider putting that back again reminding us of the good old sega days.

this game hopefully will deliver the 2D bits are what sonic fans have been asking for a looong time....this time i really have high hopes playing this game made me remember the good days of sonic.

There are only a few things that they could fix but other than that its really good. When you get hurt sonic just sits down for a second or two for some reason when in the old games you get up immediately. Then there is the fact you have to use spin dash to go into the tubes sometime you run up to it and you stop and it tells you to spin dash you should just be able to go in it immediately. BTW im not complaining i love it this is the best they have ever done with it, im just suggesting.

I like how it starts off exactly like the original green hill zone until the part were it becomes 2.5D. Also, this person absolutely sucks at platforming

Was pretty cool although the 3d sucked when it was moving.. At a stand still looked great but as soon as you started moving it went to crap..

game looks much better than Sonic 4, the only thing I didn't like was that the controls were like a half beat off. Other than that, this game could possible not suck. A first for the Sonic franchise!

Somebody hasn't played a Sonic game before, it dosen't matter how many games you've played since your last Sonic game you'll always know how to play one, it's like playing a Mario game you never forget.

awsome but needs to be 60fps, once things starting going fast you cant make out wahts going on, this game needs to be 60fps

Get over yourselves people. If your so in love with the classic games then go and play those. there's nothing wrong with the new 3D levels they have especially the Sonic Colors style. And Sonic 4 isn't bad by any means. It was actually one of the best Sonic games in a while. Just because they didn't copy every single thing they did on the Genesis into Sonic 4 doesn't mean it sucks.

I just want something new, but not gimmicky. How many times, do we need to play green hill zone? why not something new. it seems sega is always trying to suck up to sonic fans, and then they fail, look at sonic 4.

I wonder what happened to part 2? I wouldn't be surprised if it was canceled.

If Sega wants to suck up to classic sonic fans, make an HD remake of the 4 ones from the gen. 1, 2, 3 and S&K, but give them 3D models, and a 2.5D camera for a fancy effect while running through loops and call it a day. Then move onto something new, instead of trying to capture the past.
