Rumor: Sonic Generations Stages, Bosses, and DLC revealed

VGW: Sonic fans have gotten plenty of bits and pieces of information about Sonic Generations, but today a unofficial list of details on levels, bosses, and even DLC has been revealed. This information initially came courtesy of the Sonic Retro forums, whose members did some techie detective work on the Sonic Generations demo. But all information was removed shortly after with a copyright notice in its place: “This post is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Sega of America.”

It was later covered by Destructoid, and their article was also removed for unknown reasons.

Be warned that this list is very spoiler heavy, and it probably does not reflect the 3DS levels as those will be portable-centric. Also, we want to emphasize that it may not represent the final list of content in Sonic Generations. And, it goes without saying that it may not represent the official list of content whatsoever. It is curious that 2 posts were already removed, however, and we’ve got an offi...

FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh wait...

Yi-Long4709d ago

Seriously Sega? You're gonna 'celebrate 20 years of Sonic' by DLC-scamming your fans!? Seriously!?!?

Pass.

DarkBlood4709d ago (Edited 4709d ago )

how many games do u actually own since u seem to pass everything in any article i come across that i see u in :P lol

if u played the same game and there was no mention of dlc forever would u have still gotten it or feel like it could of had more?

Yi-Long4709d ago

... I just wait till they release a GOTY/Complete edition at which point I just pick it up from the bargain-bin.

I don't buy incomplete games. As soon as they ARE complete, and I'm still interested by then, I just buy them. :)

I'm never gonna support DLC.

DarkBlood4709d ago

just to be clear are you talking single player dlc or multiplayer dlc

because for me i usually buy the game i like and i dont get dlc like the stupid extra weapons or anything cuz i dont foresee my self actually using the dlc over and over again only whats on the disc

i understand your reasons i just think thats gotta be boring as it appears almost most of the games seem to go with dlc idea that i completely just ingore it and enjoy whats there or wait till it gets really cheap

but then again id rather have it all on the disc as well lol almost got new vegas but i decided for the first time to wait cuz my first fallout 3 game i ever bought was the goty edition, maybe i should do a rental if i really want to play it that badly lol

Yi-Long4709d ago

... plus I already have quite a big backlog, so it's not like I'll be bored anytime soon when I decide I won't pick up a new game because of DLC ;)

I'm just running 6-12 months behind when it comes to 'new' games, yet I pick them up ALOT cheaper and still enjoy them. I just started up Pure for the very first time last week and love it.

Right now I'm waiting for a GOTY version of Modnation Racers to be released, if ever. When you look at the DLC available for that on PSN it's kinda sickening, so I'm not even thinking of buying the regular edition. Same goes for lots of other games who are guilty of having ALOT of DLC.

I'd love to buy games new at release though, and if only the developers would just say all upcomining DLC would be free, they'd make 50-60 euro from me, instead of now seeing me wait till the price hits 20 or something.

As I mentioned before, DLC is making me spend LESS on games. Not more. :)

DA_SHREDDER4709d ago

If they charge me to go to the casino level I'm gonna get pissed. LOL. BTW, its definitely a good port. It's still weird but for some reason it seemed more polished than the last ports.

Zermeno_904709d ago

Is this gonna be a retail-disc game or downloadable? I'm a bit confused.

The 7 Best Sonic the Hedgehog Games: Racing through Time

Sonic the Hedgehog has a long and turbulent history in videogames, but which are the best games featuring the blue bur?

Rebel_Scum98d ago

Generations over Mania? Please… Generations doesnt have any new ideas in the levels/bosses.

Also a top 7 of Sonic games shouldn’t have any 3D crap and contain at least one of the 8-bit titles.

Sonic CD getting snubbed is weird. Number 1 is definitely interchangable between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

Snookies1298d ago

Nothing wrong with putting Generations over Mania. Generations had a lot more to it. Mania was just a bit too short, despite how amazing it was. They're both top-tier Sonic games though.

Profchaos98d ago (Edited 98d ago )

I don't think mania was to short given 1,2,3, knuckles were between 1 and 3 hours long.

Mania was 5 hours roughly

However i say the originals feel more repayable because they are so short

Profchaos98d ago (Edited 98d ago )

The 8 bit games were pretty bad overall do you mean the 16 bit ones

Rebel_Scum98d ago

Nope. Sonic 1 & 2 on the master system were great. Dont confuse these with the game gear versions either.

Profchaos98d ago

Top 7 for me
7 cd
6 mania
5 Frontiers
4 sonic 3
3 sonic 1
2 sonic and knuckles
1 sonic 2

Sometimes I feel like the Sonic Advanced games just didn’t exist with how much it’s always forgotten 😭

Even as a Sonic fan, I didn't really care for those games, and getting the Chaos Emeralds were freakin' horrible. Even with an emulator and save states, I didn't have the desire to try. I also didn't like most of the levels or bosses either. Unfortunately, DiMPs aren't good at making Sonic games.

Why the Separation Between Modern and Classic Sonic is a Double-Edged Sword

The divide between both iterations of Sonic is now reaching spin-off territory, and the way Sega is handling it is both a blessing and a curse.

Sonic Handheld Games that Need Remasters after Origins

BLG writes: "With the success of the films and the promise of Frontiers, it’s possible that we’re ushering in a new golden age of Sonic the Hedgehog. While Sega is looking forward, the company is also looking back. It’s giving us Sonic Origins, a retooled collection of Genesis classics. However, this package fails to provoke a burning question: what’s the best Sonic handheld game?"
