BeefJack: "Modern shooters “take themselves too seriously," American McGee believes, and the current trend for “grumpy space aliens” has “screwed up the fun” to be found in blasting gibs off your opponent in classic games such as Quake.

Call of Duty owes everything to Quake, an iconic FPS game that is heavily discounted for PS5 players right now on the PlayStation Store.
I bought both. I love the graphics. Slightly remastered without losing its og look.
"Quake II is a masterpiece; an enduring first-person shooter that shows iD Software at their technical and artistic best."

Bulletstorm is exactly what he needs. Looks cool, is fun and cannot be taken seriously.
im sorry i didnt know games had to be funny
in order to be fun
BulletStorm, Portal 2, there is some humour out there to be found in the genre, but currently, military shooters are the rage and well, humour would just be out of place.
He must have missed Borderlands.
I think a little bit of humour goes a long way. Stalker had some cute jokes in it despite being a very intense game, and even fear 2 had a couple of little funny audio tapes and emails to read. I will say though that sometimes if done wrongly attempts at humor can be crippling. Anyone remember that fuck wit norton mapes from fear? Eurgh.
