Skyrim E3 2011 Preview: Double-Fisting Spells and Dragons [MovieStinger]

MovieStinger: "One of the biggest games being shown off behind closed doors at this year’s E3 is Bethesda’s latest Elder Scrolls game, Skyrim. We got the privilege to check out thirty minutes of gameplay from Skyrim, and I’ll be honest, going into the preview, I wasn’t too excited. I’m more of sci-fi and modern genre gamer that likes games like Fallout; fantasy games based on medieval times with swords and spells really just aren’t my thing. But whether you’re a fan of games in the fantasy genre or not, there’s no doubting that Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim looks amazing."

Not a dorky person that feels the need to announce what number my comment is and never actually talk about the subject at hand!

Just picking....kind of. ^_^

ON TOPIC:

So many (hopefully) great games coming out this year. Too bad there isn't really anything coming out that I'm interested in until at least September.

Time to work on my backlog.

I know what you mean, just started Mass Effect 2, great game, and I have so many games on preorder! Can't wait for Gears, Zelda, Halo, Uncharted, Skyrim, Batman etc etc. So many awesome games!

This video game doesn't need any advertisement , just label it as ES : Skyrim and it will sell like real life weapons .

This game is looking like what BioWare wanted Dragon Age 2 to be. Damn it looks good.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast53d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22953d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko53d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave53d ago (Edited 53d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
