HEXUS.gaming reviews Clive Barker's Jericho - "It could've been great"

The difference between Clive Barker's Jericho and Undying is that Jericho comes from Clive Barker himself rather than just being endorsed by him, but is it any better because of it?

"It's good to look at (in places), has taxing puzzles (in places), different gameplay (in places) and can be quite enjoyable (in places). And that's the thing… as a whole, Clive Barker's Jericho never quite lifts itself above being a competent if repetitive shooter and that's a shame as what's here is just screaming of being a bunch of missed opportunities. Oh yeah!

Also Rag Doll Kung-fu is an excellent game. Not that long ago when I fired it up.

My friends and I still have countless amounts of fun with Rag Doll. And the video recording, permanently stored some awesome moves and weird glitches on the HDD =D

yea that game was so much fun to play, it was even free a couple of years ago during a promotion.

Since, from what I understand, PS4 will be a lot easier to program for, I am hoping we can see a lot more games that dont have a huge budget, but great ideas, come to light. Some of the best PS3 games were smaller titles that just exploded onto the scene. Valkyria Chronicles, LittleBigPlanet, DemonSouls, Folklore, ect.

Im glad Sony has such a big focus on indie games with the PS4

There's a reason why we forget certain games exist, apart from Folklore, that was a very interesting game.

dead space ignition was terrible

I always say this, despite being a decent game, The Saboteur didn't receive the attention it deserved.

PS3UK Review: Clive Barker's Jericho - 5/10

Clive Barker has made some good horrors, but Jericho is not one of them. Clive Barker has written some amazing horror movies as well as produced and directed them, his most famous being Candyman and Hellraiser. Considering his past work, we expected Jericho to be scarier than the first play through of Silent Hill 1 when we were 10. Sadly, it wasn't. The game starts out quite well by throwing you into the middle of a desert with ancient ruins and a strange tornado. You walk around for a while in your team leader Ross who is equipped with a nicely chosen G36c rifle until monsters run out in front of you and start attacking you. Considering this was written by an experienced horror writer, we were expecting a dark and creepy introduction and the first enemy encounter to be pretty horrifying. This was the first let down of many.

Clive Barker's Jericho IGN AU Review - 5.6

Just so you don't get the wrong idea, Clive Barker's Jericho is a corridor shooter. It's got a few elements to distract you from its monster closets and entirely linear levels, such as the squad control, but ultimately it's a straight-ahead charge from beginning to end.

well i thought the demo was awful. Graphics too shiny like every one was dipped in varnish and it played too much like a PC shooter. (ie way the gun was held and the speed etc)

Edwin19896058d ago

agreed, the demo sucked reaaaally hard

but how can a game get a 5.6 in USA and AU, and an 8 in the UK? that's just weird isn't it?
