GameBlurb@E3: Aliens – Colonial Marines Impressions

GameBlurb had a chance to sit down for a behind closed doors look at Aliens: Colonial Marines. In most interviews, we were with other press only, and had a chance to ask lots of in-depth questions, but with Aliens, we were grouped together with non-press too, and hence there wasn’t a Q&A session like the other interviews. That means all my questions are here for you to read and ponder too.

I hope this game is going to be good. There hasn't been many good Aliens games in a looooooooong time, if ever.

Looking very sleek...Hopefully it won't be the typical "aliens versus man" FPS stuff

I really hope they show a lot more later for this game. Aliens is such a cool franchise.

yeah an awesome franchise for sure. I can only imagine that the pressure and restrictions of having to work within a defined franchise make it difficult to make a game. It's not like they can just go and make shit up left and right to suit their gameplay needs.

Seeing that this game is being treated as a true sequel to Aliens 3, maybe it will do well. It is just movie games that stick to the same formula as the movie tend to suck it up (except for Riddick).
I am really intrigued how the Wii U version will take advantage of the new controller. Also, for a game that is supposed to ship in April...seems odd to launch it so far after the Wii U's rumored Holiday 2012 launch. I have a sneaky feeling that the system will be launched in Spring and this will be a launch title.

The Saboteur - criminally underrated and a fantastic mechanic of bringing colour back to Nazi-occupied Paris.

The article lists Bulletstorm, Sleeping Dogs, and Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Can't argue with any of those really, but I would add Resident Evil Operation Racoon City and Metal Gear Survive to that list. Both terrible games from good franchises.

Bulletstorm, I actually liked the gameplay but the atrocious writing and characters made me despise the game by the end of it.

I still play AvP on PS3 to this day. That game had fun multiplayer too.
