"I just had a hands-on demo with the hugely anticipated massively multiplayer role-playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic, but after an hour of watching self-described sizzle reels of prerendered and in-game footage of casually pirouetting Jedi and environments so full of foxfire and crepitating tails of energy, I couldn't actually make myself actually play the game. This isn't the Star Wars I love."
EA has announced it will engage in a shareholder-pleasing share buyback program just a couple of months after mass layoffs at the studio.
Today Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson provided a look into his ideas for the use of generative AI in the company's development processes.
EA is still a shady shitty company even with or without the help of Skynet. All they will use AI for is new ways to milk loot boxes and come up with the same sports title with a different year on the label. They are one company I truly do hate with a passion. They single handedly ruined some great franchise with their death touch. ME, Dead Space, Alice Returns, Dante's Inferno.
EA layoffs followed by 'Generative AI to Drive Monetization'
I knew it. Wonder what AI salary looks like? Nothing.
And take away creativity, and people's jobs as we've been seeing. Got it.
No thanks. I want my games created by people, not AI.
EA doesn't want to lose their title of worst gaming company ever, always trying their best to remain the champs!
What's sad is that they have so much potential to be a decent publisher.

Remember when EA used to be awesome? It's all over with now. Unpolished, if not out-right broken games these days. Endless monetization and gambling in their sports games, and let's not forget wasting hours of your life trying to unlock characters or equipment using "surprise boxes!"
Gareth, Justin, and JoeyZ look at Layoff news for EA and Sony and reasons behind the downturn in the industry and more.
unfortunatley... I was at E3 yesterday. Game might PLAY a bit different, but looks like WoW. I didn't play it but watched a guy who was on a speeder literally spend about 2 minutes piloting said speeder through a cave at like 20mph. no combat, not one obstacle. very boring S**T.
THIS is the game I'm supposed to upgrade my PC for? I'll just stick with my PS3/Xbox for now.
I would forgive bioware if they scrapped the game and just made a few movies based upon the trailers they've been releasing. THOSE are badass. Even lucas should be taking notes on those.
This article is absolute garbage and the author is a pretentious moron.
This game will be one of the biggest flops/wastes of money in the history of gaming.
SW:TOR, for all BioWare's bluster, looks like WoW and plays like WoW to any average gamer. More accurately, it looks like it plays like the majority of MMOs on the market. But it's voiced. That seems to be the most significant difference.
I truthfully can't tell what about the gameplay in particular is supposed to be so unlike other MMOs.
We just need SWG2 and all will be right with the world
