inFAMOUS 2 Review | CheatCC

CheatCC - "What makes a superhero? Is it the desire to do the right thing no matter the cost? Is it the superpowers? Is it sheer tenacity and willpower? As a long time comic book fan, I know the answer can be skewed depending on the hero and origin storyline, and sometimes their current situation. I also have to admit, in recent years, the lines between hero and vigilante have blurred immensely in the eyes of readers and video game players. A lot has been done to define the moral compass of heroes, but then there are games like inFAMOUS, daring to challenge the very core of what is good versus what is necessary. inFAMOUS 2 goes this extra step to make it even harder to play only one side of the hero/villain coin."

never seen a cheatcc review?

they have done this for awhile now

Nice, can't wait to see what Edge gives it :/...

Bathyj4726d ago

Who cares what Edge gives it, I'll be playing this baby in 2 hours and Edge will be the furthest thing from my mind.

clank5434726d ago

This review is totally spot on. I'm a little over a third of the way through (about 7-8 hours in) and its absolutely amazing so far. I think I'm close to getting to the second island and the story development and just raw gameplay is exceptional. Easily up there with Crysis 2, L.A. Noire and Portal 2 for my favorite games of the year so far.

LOGICWINS4726d ago (Edited 4726d ago )

Hell, I'd go as far to say that the pacing of the story and the character development is better than Uncharted 2's.

While Uncharted 2 strives to be a cheesy Indiana Jones movie, Infamous 2 TRULY makes the game feel like a REAL LIFE scenario...I don't want to ruin the game for anyone, but people who have spent significant time with the game know exactly what I mean.

The only thing I will say is that the temptations to be evil are very cleverly implemented into the game.

Nitrowolf24726d ago

I think Nix is kind of annoying. Love the game though, but i wish the environment was much more dynamic as one was when you choose to be evil.
Loved that about one, where there would be a lot more sick people, the sky would be darker and the streets and such would look more dirty.

Otherwise awesome game, they even made collection blat shards a lot more easy (upgrade power), those dam dead drops though.

"Infamous 2 TRULY makes the game feel like a REAL LIFE scenario"

Been playing the game for like five hours here, man, and this has more comic books clichés than a current Marvel comic.

Heard from some it just gets worse from there, but honestly, I can't say I'm not enjoying it. It's quite...charming, despite all that.

LOGICWINS4726d ago (Edited 4726d ago )

Funny, I actually LOVE Nix and her abilities. The first time you attack the militia with her is EASILY one of the most entertaining parts of the game. I'm playing on the good side first, so naturally I picked Kuo to exchange my powers with..but whats nuts is that I felt bad I didn't take Nix's powers cause shes an awesome character.

Can't wait to start up my second playthrough on the evil side :)

And yes, the game is awesome even though I'm encountering glitches, but they're nothing major that take away from the game.

@Neckbear- Some of the missions later on in the game are monotonous. Like when you have to fire those tesla bolts. Its funny because in the mission where you steal the transfer machine..Cole HIMSELF groans about having to fire yet ANOTHER Tesla missile lol.

Nitrowolf24726d ago (Edited 4726d ago )

@Logic

Nix powers are a lot better then when you take them. I picked evil Cole first then played good Cole after i beat it. Didn't like Kou powers that much. Nix has awesome powers and IMO there better then Kou and work a lot better for Co-op then Kuo do.

Also i find it strange that they kind of made Cole act or lean more towards evil decisions. I liked how in one he would think it through and act out the consequences in his head, but in this one i feel like they were trying to make us lean towards it. Even on Evil playthrough it's the same. But then again it makes sense later why.

BTW i love the variety of different missions. I don't think any of them are the same unless it's a super charge one. Not the one where you p[rotect the transformer but then one where you jump off one and grind/fly to the next one. There are a lot of those. Also some of these missions have a continue to them. So they are like mini stories.

LOGICWINS4726d ago (Edited 4726d ago )

^^Yeah, he's kind of an asshole in this one, but I like that. He has powers and he kills big monsters, its HUMAN for him to get cocky. I lol'ed during this cinematic where the swamp monsters are first introduced in Bertran's campaign and Cole tells a pedestrian to get the hell out of his way.

Your right that Cole's character DOES lean more towards the evil side regardless of what path the player chooses.

The missions overall are varied, but like you said, those "Protect the Transformer" missions are VERY repetitive.

NateCole4726d ago

As usual. I think Reviewers are playing a different game from what i am playing.

AlexCage4726d ago

Then I guess your playing the game wrong.

NateCole4726d ago

No not these guys. I meant the other reviewers that did a rush job or played a different game that i am playing now.

SP is robbed of due credit. Infmaous 2 is way better than part 1 and part 1 was already an amazing game.

I want it too. Make it co-op as well.

-Foxtrot358d ago

Yeah they had a lightning bolt in the shape of a question mark at the end of Infamous 2

They always went off the good ending for Cole so I think for Delsin it should be the bad ending

What he did in the bad ending, absorbing everyone’s powers, seemed like he was going to turn into something powerful.

Makes you feel like he could have been the real Beast and John was just an anomaly because of them messing with time

Sets up a Cole vs Delsin showdown

potatoseal358d ago

How would fans feel about a reboot? You know to bring a new audience in? Not a good idea? Good idea?

anast357d ago

Not a god idea. They let it sit for too long and the game hasn't been strong enough to carry itself all these years. There is so much other stuff out there right now.

masterfox358d ago

Second Son was released in 2014 was an amazing game visually and gameplay wise, sometimes I play it again on the PS5 and seeing it run at 60 fps is something to behold(yes an almost 10 year old game), if you haven't done that on your PS5 try it you won't be disappointed, pure eye candy, a PS5 exclusive of Infamous would be amazing no doubt.

gold_drake358d ago

meh, i want Cole to come back.

or maybe a reboot. with cole.

Older PlayStation games that we'd love to see on the PlayStation 5

From Xfire: "For a company with a three-decade-long history in gaming, Sony has done a crappy job at preserving its legacy. "

If the PC can emulate the PS3, then for sure the PS5 would be able to do same. but dose Sony want it?

Mr Logic1411d ago

If there was money in it, then Sony would do it. People can bitch and moan all they want, but even if every person on this site used BC, that would still be a tiny fraction of gamers. Almost nobody really uses BC.

DethWish1411d ago (Edited 1411d ago )

I think there would be money if they made PS3 games downloadable through PSNow and added a bunch more.
Edit: I would get it if MGS4 was available

Mr Logic1411d ago

@DethWish

That would be an emulator. You're not making any sense.

DethWish1411d ago

Mr Logic, really? If PS5 could emulate PS3 games (BC) and PSNow would let you download and play PS3 games locally instead of streaming (like it lets you download PS4 games), wouldn't that be awesome? PSNow has some really interesting PS3 games, but I'd prefer to play them locally

MadLad1411d ago

Really?
Remasters of popular games do extremely well. MS basically hands them out for free. If people didn't want to play older games, then why do remasters sell so well?

anonymousfan1411d ago

I honestly would probably never ever use it... But I still think it would be pretty neat. Its one of the few avantages PC still has on console that is complete backwards compatibility. But for all the work needed to implement this I doubt it would be worth Sony's time.

Melankolis1411d ago

In my opinion.
The difference is independent emulator developer can build any emulator as an experiment that will be perfected for years, maybe more than 10 years. During that time, expect many glitch, bugs, and updates. They can do that because they do not have any obligation towards PC users or whatsoever.

Fos Sony, once they announce PS5 will be able to play PS3 games, they have to make it safe and playable for users. They do not want the emulator cause bricks, glitch, heating up or anything to the consoles and get sued for that.

Harkins17211411d ago

The amount of work it would require sony for each game probably isn't worth it. Maybe after rpcs3 is done they can patent it and use it. That's the dream lol

This has been going on for years any full game playable yet

EazyC1411d ago

Wish I never sold my PS3 for MGS IV alone, I'm dying to play it again

Gamerking821411d ago (Edited 1411d ago )

Any ps3 owner has too own this masterpiece . My disk drive has just gone on my old super slim . So I bought the digital version no questions ask . If you have a ps3 own this masterpiece that’s all I can say . I replay it every year and still find loads of enjoyment . The last true metal gear in my opinion . V was good and gameplay amazing , but it’s just not a metal gear quality story wise .
