GameXplain Says: "Monday morning has come and gone and so has the last of the major E3 presentations. Nintendo has finally named the successor to the Wii, the Wii U with its revolutionary touch screen controller, but it’s what they didn’t announce that has us a little disappointed here at GameXplain. Here is a list of our top five disappointment from Nintendo’s conference."

They showed almost NOTHING for the Wii, as said in 4.

And WiiU just ended up being a late-to-the-party system with vague, convoluted gimmicks. At least Wii's waggle was centralized, and even then it didn't really get the support/use that it should have.

And a lack of additional 3rd party support for 3DS and non-EA support for the WiiU.

Good points.

We must've watched a different show.

Spenok4726d ago

Lol i agree, im a bit confused myself.

MaxXAttaxX4726d ago (Edited 4726d ago )

Was lack of Wii games. They showed NOTHING. Where was Skyward Sword?

Wii-U is nice(I guess), and I'm not a graphics-whore, but it's really disappointing that it looks no better(or even as good) as current gen consoles like 360 and PS3 which are 5 YEARS OLD.

I feel like the giant screen in the middle of my controller is in the way. I'm not gonna use it.
I wanna sit down and play a game without having to be forced to use motion controls in the Wii or use the touch pad on the Wii-U.
Just let me play the damn games without gimmicks!

If I want a touchscreen handheld device I'll use my DS and later PSV.

"And a lack of additional 3rd party support for 3DS and non-EA support for the WiiU."

Hey moron... EA's owner was even on stage talking about supporting the new system with ALL EA games...

Theyellowflash304726d ago (Edited 4726d ago )

"At least Wii's waggle was centralized, and even then it didn't really get the support/use that it should have" "Non-EA support for the WiiU"?

- I am sure EA came out there on stage and said all of their games will be on the WiiU. So how does Nintendo have Non-EA support?

- your smoking something dude. All i've seen you do is troll nintendo's new system all day. How is it gimmicky when it has buttons and a touchscreen?

- The gameplay mechanics they showed were trivial and could be applied to any game unlike the wii mote which has a lack of buttons. Many games will end up having hotkeys, maps, and unique touch screen controls like the DS. Nothing there made me scream gimmick especially when they stated that there will be traditional games made for it.

- And why are you being so impatient? Nintendo will show more of the system and its functions this E3. Stop bitching dude.

@erasure
"And a lack of....non-EA support for the WiiU."

I'M a moron? I said a LACK of non-EA support.
As in a lack of support from parties that are not EA.

Theyellowflash304726d ago (Edited 4726d ago )

Darksiders 2, Batman AA, Assassin's Creed, Ghost Recon, Tekken, Aliens Colonial Marines, and Ninja Gaiden 3, is a lack of 3rd party support?

NLGSean4726d ago

Sega, Namco, Tecmo, Konami, Activion, Ubisoft, etc... hhmmm... I think you are the one looking like the moron dude... Maybe you should have watched the press conference...

oricon4726d ago

The point of the whole conference was to show the new controller for the console, by next year 3rd party will have time with their dev kits, they only got their kits months before e3. When new hardware is announced for consoles they usually don't really show much games, like the PS3 for example when they announced they unveiled the games the year after just like Nintendo did with the revolution, it was the media that over hyped e3 everything with all the rumors created, if Nintendo didn't have time to show stuff for the wiiu you think 3rd party will, they will probably show stuff, at their annual fall conference or next year e3 to properly show off the console.

You are looking at the perfect sensor bar and all around controller for a system. You can't tell right now but the augmented dual screen motion controls are going to be sweet.

We are talking about a three point sensor bar now that also even uses a camera so it's a 3d it setup now. Really great stuff. Streaming to the controller is still crazy. No hdmi needed and it has a stylus and head phone jack al la neo geo lol. And other goodies all in the controller. Also it acts as the master controller so you only need one of them. Currently the sdk does not do two tablet controllers. I'm sure one can be used with out the screen if you want dual analog.

Your gonna have to wait on specs that's still nda up right now. IBM can talk I believe and yes the dame chip has it own edram.

Also the controller can be plugged up for extended play.

It's so much better than move though and every thing else out right now. There is not much for the others to do but copy are throw tech at the problem which is going to get murder by the new functionality in just the controller.

This is what they wanted the wii to be.

Wish more games had been showed

bearsfaan4726d ago

Once again, Nintendo comes out with some half-baked hardware idea with no 3rd party support :(

Muletroid4726d ago

then 2 - 3 years later everyone else will implement something similar and say they were planning to do so all along

RandyFanboiz4726d ago

then 2-3 years after that, nintendo will start to release some of their launch titles.

TheGrimReaper4726d ago

hmmmm... if you think about it PS3 and PS Vita could be doing something very similar. And I wouldn't consider it being an afterthought because of Wii U's success.
And if you are referring to Move, check your facts. This idea has been in R&D at Sony long before Wii.

jacksonmichael4726d ago

There are still 2 roundtables coming...

NLGSean4726d ago

No third Party Support? Did we watch the same show?

EA, Ubisoft, Konami, Namco, Activision, Capcom, Irrational Games, Sega... Shall I go on...

Did someone not see the developer video?

Did someone not see the huge list of 3rd party names they put on the screen at the end of the show???

RandyFanboiz4726d ago

Yeah, expect to see titles by those developers trickle in around 2015. Maybe a new zelda game around 2016 perhaps??

DigitalRaptor4726d ago (Edited 4726d ago )

The WiiU devkits would have been in the hands of these companies for a year or two now. I'm sure there'll be a steady flow of great titles coming by at least 2013.

V0LT4726d ago

I'll believe it when I see it.

How Many More Victims, Like Garry's Mod, Will Nintendo's Hurtful Crusade Create?

Hanzala from eXputer: "As Nintendo takes out 20 years' worth of stuff from Garry's Mod, I watch in shock, thinking why it continues to hurt and discourage its fans."

RiseNShine12d ago (Edited 12d ago )

The irony that some of the most disgusting business practices come from companies like Disney or Nintendo, i can't even begin to understand what terrible damage was Garrys Mod making to Nintendo bottom line, imho they're getting pretty nervous about where they're heading in the future, handhelds are no longer something exclusive to Nintendo, from Steam Deck to many others, now you can play the latest games and pay a fraction of the price on Steam sales, so it's up to their exclusives, which just on their own would make hard to justify purchasing a closed overpriced hardware with outrageous price policies (Super Mario Odyssey is still 60 euro 6 years later!), and as a home console they're always underperforming compared to Sony or Xbox.

gold_drake11d ago (Edited 11d ago )

i cam guarantee you, that their exclusives alone is what drives switch sales. they sell in the 10s of millions of copies.

nintendo created their franchises to be sort of nostalgia driven, exclusive only on nintendo.

people will always buy the pkmn games as they always bring in new younger fans amd is family friendly

mario kart, the same thing, mario games in general.

zelda games are system sellers. animal crossing for the casual gamers.

nintendo doesnt need third vame devs essentially. they made sure with the switch and the limitations that they looked more to pc ps and xbox.

its sad, but nintendo is more than fine with what they're doing. they positioned themselves to appeal to the more casual gamers.

but to your point, im not sure why they're doing this rly.

Inverno11d ago

Look at how they handled Nintendo games being streamed or uploaded on YouTube in the past. They killed Yuzu and Citra even when they had nothing to do with ToTK being leaked, not to mention it was basically unplayable on emulation the week it was leaked. Smash Bros tournament, that was fairly recent. They shut down their online services without any care for purchases made. I bought a switch after skipping their last 2 consoles and handhelds but I don't plan on buying anything Nintendo in the future. They take things to the extremes, they legitimately hate their fans. They're honestly right up there with the likes of Acti, EA, and Ubi, only difference is that they disguise themselves as being family friendly all the while being shady.

Nintendo's Massacre Of The 3DS And Wii U Is Finally Complete, Regrettably

Hanzala from eXputer: "The cruel hammer of Nintendo has fallen. Farewell, 3DS and Wii U, you surely brightened my life and many others; you won't be forgotten."
