Sony Serves Up Solid Slate of Original Games at E3 2011

Forbes: I was able to get hands-on time with most of Sony’s big games before E3 2011. The following are some thoughts on these games as well as videos that show you more of what’s in store for each title. Sony’s press conference will announce some additional titles, including a new God of War 3D adventure, but these five titles should help drive sales of PS3 hardware this year and also keep PS3 gamers happy now that the hacking incident is over.

These are still original IPs Sony created over the years. A solid line up of original IPs, so to speak.

That is not what original IP means. That term applies only to the first game in a new series. After that it's called 'derivative IP'

UC3 is maybe a "derivative IP" in the line of uncharted games, however, the brand, Uncharted is an original IP, created by Sony/Naughty Dog. Same with Resistance, inFamous, etc. Lesser Starhawk since this is indeed derived from Warhawk (yet, it could be seen as an original IP since it is not tied to the copyright of Warhawk at all - other than the same people working on it and Sony owns both).

-Sly 4
-Gurrilla's next Ip
-Sucker Punches new ip (that was recently rumored)
-Potentially Getaway/Eights Days/The Outsider (none of them have been CONFIRMED to be canceled. Most are still on life support)

An then of course we have Versus, Starhawk, ICO/SOTC, and TLG for 2012.

Things are looking incredible in Sony land. Microsoft on the other hand...ugh. Color me kinect.

Sucker Punch must work on something...inFamous2 is done...but this could be Sly4. Same with Guerilla. Their next most likely isn't another Killzone (just yet), but an action RPG??
