Co-operative play has seen a rise in popularity since online gaming has become so prominent in the current-generation consoles. Many games attempt co-op, yet only a few get it right. Games like Left 4 Dead and Demon's Souls show us the right way to do co-op
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.
Times are changing, and these games would have never been made in today's climate.
Every single time someone uses this phrase whether it's music, movies, books, comics, video games, etc it's always the same claim.
The ubiquitous "they" won't allow it to be made. And every decade these claims are made the claimant completely ignores all the "offensive" material that is published when the claim is made.
In ten years, you can write a new article about how you can't make games like Helldivers 2, Resident Evil VIII, Mortal Kombat I, Dragon's Dogma 2, Alan Wake 2 etc etc etc any more.
Dead Island: "The early PC version of the zombie game swapped the playable character Purna’s Gender Wars skill with a prototype name, which shouldn’t be mentioned directly. The skill name made fun of both Purna as a character and feminists."
"Feminist Whore" lmao
ill add one more to the list.
drakengard 1.
its ridiculous tho, especially since they'd still be able to find their place in alot of places in the world. except america of course ha. and maybe Australia.
ppl are so sensitive these days. ha. but it is what it is.
They're not offensive.
And we need another Fat Princess. Fantastic little game!
Some people just have no sense of humour if this sort of thing offends them. They need to lighten up and stop taking themselves so seriously.
He wants to launch all his projects initially through close beta.
I think Portal 2 did a fantastic job at coop too. I just wish the coop was longer but hopefully the DLC will make up for that and whenever Valve gets around to releasing mod tools.
L4D has like no teamwork(at least on xbox 360) so I do not think we need more L4D co-op. I have never played Demon Souls so I will not comment on it.
Spec-ops, zombies, UC2 co-op, portal 2, etc... have great co-op but they are not the same kind of co-op.
I agree when the guy int he article said "When developers carelessly merge single player and co-operative components into one, either the campaign suffers or the co-op does. I want co-op modes which are unique, and tailor made for the perfect experience. It needs to be designed specifically for playing with friends, and be a feature that must be played, rather than something which is toyed around with to kill an hour and then never played again. When that happens, both experiences are made better."
PILLZ HEER!
These games did an excellent job of focusing on co-op, but here's the thing: co-op is great to include even if you DON'T focus on it.
More games should simply include the option. Even when the implementation isn't perfect, such as in R6: Vegas 1, it's *still fun*.
Even if it makes literally no sense to have a second player within the plot of a campaign (like with several of the Halo campaigns), it's *still awesome*.
Whether a developer makes it a focus or not, co-op is almost always a welcome addition.
demons souls online for when u invade other ppls worlds thats done right!
But the blue phantom system takes toooo long and its tideous like summoning since how sometimes itll say summon failed it holds you up from gaining souls , and upgrading weapons.
