The 13 million-selling Gears of War series wraps up this autumn, culminating with an epic "band of brothers" storyline featuring lead character Marcus Fenix and his rag tag rabble battling the Locust horde after the collapse of human civilisation. Senior gameplay designer Lee Perry has worked on the series since Gears of War 1, released in 2006, and during that time he has overseen a cover-based, third-person shooting mechanic that has garnered critical acclaim and spawned a generation of imitators. Digital Spy grabbed some time with Perry to discuss the gameplay challenge of creating Gears of War 3, the rather unfortunate life of the Locust and how his team creates those magnificent monsters.
For those who don't have time for massive open worlds or role-playing games with epic tales, these 15 games are worth checking out.
Gears of War 3 and Judgement servers have returned to their "updated" condition, adding several features, such as increased XP and more.
I currently play Gears 3 often, especially after the 60 FPS Boost. Gears of War is my favorite gaming franchise, and the Locusts are the coolest faction in history. Gears Judgment will always be a disgrace for not having the Locust in VS multiplayer.
GoW 3 and Judgement were the last installments before the series went woke and soulless. I'm level 50 in GoW 3 and LOVE it's multiplayer to death. It's just so crispy.
The Xbox 360 is one of the most successful consoles ever made, and the best games in its library are a huge part of why.
That is the most "normie" list that I ever saw. This does make some sense given the console in question, but still.
Might as well list it as the One's top twenty as well since all it had for games was backward compatibility.
Gears is big business!
so psyched for this game. the beta really sold me on this one.
between horde, beast, 4 player co op that claims to play more like gears 1 campaign, and much improved multi has made this my most anticipated game this year.
That means a lot considering what kind of year we are having.
Beta was outstanding, can't wait for the full game!
