What is Call of Duty Elite? TGV Hands-On

The Gaming Vault writes: Nobody can be told what Call of Duty: Elite is – you have to see it for yourself. Well, no, that’s not true – but it certainly will help to hear about Activision’s latest expansion to the Call of Duty franchise from somebody who got to see, play with and fiddle with it – which is why I’m here.

Before showing us the full demo of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Activision ushered us into a room heavily decorated with Call of Duty: Elite logos so it could be explained to us what Elite, internally codenamed ‘Project Beachhead’, is all about.

Activision is going all out with this. I don't see how any game at the moment, outside of Halo can compete with this. I wonder if any Bungie guys are working on this since they have signed on to Activision for the next ten years.

I know people hate paying for anything gaming related but having people on stand-by and monitoring all this is not cheap. I wonder what the price point will be...that's the million dollar question???

While my personal interest is nil, I think five bucks or under will be a massive win for them. Massive.

I was kinda thinking the same thing as I was looking over the screenshots. It's kinda like what Bungie was offering from a stats point of view with Halo 2 forward with that franchise, but it looks like there have been more added in like playing certain match challenge set ups to add to the players career and guidance on improving.

I believe the annoucement of Bungie partnering with Acto was about a year ago, so I believe you hit the nail on the head. This smells like Bungie's influence.

Bungie & Halo games been doing this for how long now? Since Halo 2 days and it is free..

why would you need to pay for this?

AP4739d ago

How far beyond what bungie can do is the question? If it offers a decent amount more it'll be good. I wonder if Bungie's game with activision will charge for this stuff?

Looking a lot like the Steam interface. Except, you know, for not free.

doesn't seem that great to me... gamebattles.com is all you need

ExPresident4739d ago

This is such trash. Offering private clan support for a fee when every other game does it free. Oh we'll offer you weapon stats when.... every game does it free.... Keep your game Activision. I'll stick with any other title that doesn't charge me for crap that should be free.
