Extra fee to stat track. No thanks.

Redempteur4739d ago

especially when HALO , and killzone have it for free since ages ...

AllroundGamer4739d ago

so many Elite previews... trying to hype much? like hypeing that you have to pay for breathing air...

femshep4739d ago

im guessing (since activison can market stuff and make it sell really well) people who buy mw3 new or preorder or something will get a month of this free with a bunch of exclusive content so that way they can pull supporters and make sure they come back to pay to keep there "free" content

fei-hung4739d ago

Am sure any games do this for free. Games like KZ3 and Halo. Unless it is at a reasonable price and it includes map packs, I don't see why anyone in their right senses would pay for it.... but then again, there is a huge community of sheep across all platforms who will do anything I suppose.

.
Activision just delivered a steel toe boot to Ea and Dices head this holiday. If I was EA, I would delay Battlefield till next year some time. What are they going to do, show more parking lot game play...O_o

E3 is looking Epic and by far the most information packed E3 in a long time. Did you here that Apple is having their conference at the same time as M$...yep, could be another player in the console wars.

BTW...for those complaining about the COD Elite hype, would you rather have 20 more articles about PSN and it's revolving door of problems. It's the pre-E3 hype train and Activision is kicking off the festivities.

What about it looks "incredible"? All they;'re oing is some extra stat tracking available in existing games for nothing. On top of that i'm guessing subscribers should get extra weapon unlocks to give them an edge so non subscribers will want to have it too. It;'s a crappy business practise that you'd expect from Activision. This choice of theirs to compare it with movie rental services is a massive joke too-no comparison at all when all they're doing is splitting up their content and asking us to pay more. Can doesn't cover it. Certainly, I see little incredible about it at all except that some of us will fall for it.

Also, i'm not so sure they won't STILL ask even more for map packs as they will want their cake, to eat it, then have your too, regurgitate that and eat it again. I never hoped for the gaming community to grow some balls anywhere near as much as I do over this. A big no sub movement even from those who feel they must buy the game would go a long way to getting some respect from these greedy bastards.

BTW-an Apple home console? how much would they want for that? £900with no first party games AT ALL? Be a massive struggle even for Apple to break into what's traditionally the cheaper end of home gaming when people baulked at PS3 launch prices even WITH Sony's exclusive list and pedigree in gaming. I don't see it and pray it doesn't come about as i've had plenty of Apple's over priced and under performing BS style over content lifestyle range to last me forever and a day.

Besides, they seem a lot more intent on the very casual end of games right now which is why, along with touch screen controls being shit for proper games, my iPhone is the least used it of tech I ever owned.

E3 will be a press junket again, like every year, with all the main players wasting too much time and effort and cash on making announcements better done almost any other way and any other time. It makes them promise things too soon or that they can't always deliver as they have to be seen to compete with each other-it;'s a farce of over expenditure. I'm interested if there's decent games and hardware but not excited for the conference itself as it's representative of conspicuous over indulgence and it's vulgar as hell.

Lets just hope Sony don't feel they have to wear sack cloth and ashes and spend all day apologising for what the hackers did to us!

Testing the waters to see how many people would pay for pay to play online service.

Millions will buy this worthless stat tracker and then CoD goes Pay to Play... Battlefield is looking better than ever.

Rolling the Dice: Do Modern RPGs Miss the Point of Team-Based Play?

It seems it was long time ago. A bunch of friends spending hours on end playing RPG games, sitting around the table with the box of cold pizza. Excited about the story, listening to the Game Master, they were completely engaged in the worlds only visible to them and their imaginations.

The GM is the programmer, and in MMOs and co-ops, you can play with others. If you want to ONLY use your imagination for the visuals, read a book.

1) Hope they put it on disc this time.
2) Hope this is a positive for Neptune coming over as well.

Demons Souls5095d ago

If so, that's being developed & published by Idea Factory. Compile Heart has nothing to do with it (Thank God for that).

Godmars2905095d ago (Edited 5095d ago )

Thought Compile Heart was one of the companies lending characters.

Was also speaking in general as in regards to a US of Neptune. If these guys are offing a second game, NIS or Atlus, both of whom offer quirkier titles, will put that one out.

@kagon01:
My issue isn't - wholly - with the DL-only option, but the price. The first game should be $30. Maybe $40, and by that I mean $39.99. The only reason its $45 is the 360 disc version which has extras. Nevermind that by all rights its a PS2 game. Something that proabbly could have been done if the devs had the GOW2 engine or tools.

ClownBelt5095d ago

I approve of this god damn message.

Could have gotten my 60 bucks if they just put it on a disc.

Jack-Pyro5095d ago

Is this a half decent SRPG, porn aside, cause if it is, i might just decide to go and buy it for the 360.

Anon73495095d ago

There's no porn just some sexual innuendos but that's it.

Also it is a great game by itself, maybe not graphically but everything else is top tier.

RedDevils5095d ago

so it had some kind of "top tier" porn story jk

ThanatosDMC5095d ago

Yup, it's a decent game. I just hate that a move has to go first before any attack options.
