Wow didn't know people still started this game in this day and age. I mean I loved the game to death with 5 lvl 75 jobs but good lord did it take a while to get those jobs, quests, keys, missions, sky, sea etc... I would think there would be not many ppl in the early levels and just higher level characters. If I would have known FFXIV would of ended the way it did you can bet a goat that I would have kept my FFXI character.

Just to keep a long ass story of mine short, FFXI days were the good days...

negroguy4721d ago

Yes they were. The community was top notch, and conversing with japanese players via auto translate function was a blast. I met some good japanese friends and we could have a conversation using that feature. Beastmaster and puppetmaster I loved... I needa stop going down memory lane before I sign back up.

Welcome to the wonderful world that is Vans'diel. It only gets better, especially after lvl 30 when the classes start to open up and you get some kick ass skills.

I never did end up beating that damn Kaiser Dragon.

DarkOcelet2995d ago

I cant wait to see the dragons we will fight in FFXV. I hope the fights are tough as nails.

AdventNick2995d ago

Ruby is tough no doubt, but a whole lot easier if you go in with one party member

For those that truly understand the game mechanics and take advantage of them. Omega weapon will only actually have around 182k health.

Prishe & Ulmia to be Added to Final Fantasy XI’s Trust System in Next Update

Final Fantasy XI‘s Trust Initiative has been a revolutionary addition to the game. By allowing players to form small parties comprised of only themselves and a couple of NPCs, the leveling process has been eased in the wake of departing players.

Prishe and Ulmia – two NPCS from the game’s second expansion, 2004′s Chains of Promathia – will be added to the system next, nearly 10 years after their initial appearance. Square Enix has promised a full “platoon” of alter egos to follow.

Wish they had this back when I was playing years ago.

TransientDreamer3745d ago

Agreed. However, it's a welcome addition seeing as how Abyssea made EXP parties go bye-bye.

Ngai3745d ago

Prishe <3 here's still hope for an action figure.

thejigisup3745d ago

Wow ffxi...didn't know people still played

TransientDreamer3745d ago

Still plenty of people playing, along with plenty of active servers.

Milruka3745d ago

"plenty"

Last time I checked some of the servers were as little as 70 active players and a average of 500-1200 players active.

Geeks of Rage : Episode 40

Sometimes you need a little break. Like a weekend in Atlanta. Or 22/24 hours a day in an MMORPG. Or a 6-month-long backwards jaunt towards the roots of a game franchise. We finally managed to pry ourselves from the things we love though, and we recorded another show instead. It’s a worthwhile session too, complete with insinuated rape, killer nuns from the fifth dimension, and fake thugs eating Chick-fil-a out of Rolls Royces. We do not play on this show.
