The Assassin/Templar War In AC Revelations

GameInformer: "A war is raging in the streets of Constantinople in 1511, and its borders stretch out across the breadth of the Mediterranean region. The Templars and the Assassins battle for control of the great cities. The assassins have a general in this war, and his name is Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

In Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, players controlled Ezio in a fun action loop. Bring down the Borgia captain. Burn his tower. Open shops. Make money. That idea has been reworked and focused in Assassin’s Creed Revelations to deliver more variety and offer a fun distraction from the main story while continuing the war of the Assassins and the Templars."

Sounds like they are beefing up the elements that they added in AC:B which is good!

Although they have gone the route of a game a year... at least they are keeping it progressing with adding some game changers into it!

I hope that after this "Trilogy" is over..... that they continue the franchise..... But drastically change it up so it feels like a VERY different game. As I think this is a franchise that could go on and on and just keep getting better with all the different locations and time periods.

I hope that once AC3 rolls around next year, we wont see another AC for maybe 2 or 3 more years. As much as I love the series, we need a break from the yearly releases, and the end of Desmond's story would be a great finish.

Yeh I think a break whilst perhaps building a new game engine and having some very different mechanics could be a good thing as you could keep some of the same feel of the game while also changing it up enough to make it feel new.

Maybe next time round have Assassin's more based around stealthy/sneaky shit!
Creeping around in the shadows, disguising yourself as guard/priest/cleaner/ect, sabotaging things, using poisons, snake in the bed type stuff. Still with fighting obviously.... just a different spin to some of the assassinations. Maybe a good mix of both.

I do hope the franchise goes on though as I do like the historical aspects they do as well as the gameplay and story. I like the addition of the whole guildmaster side of things and hope they continue to add more strategic elements to it.

When will you decommission this new one? I’m only asking so I can be happier by not buying it at full price.

The dog Chorizo from FAR CRY 6 has wheelchair legs, so is hardly a decommissioned pet. In fact very useful for digging up dirt.

Historic Eras that Video Games Need to Explore

Xfire writes "Worldbuilding is a crucial part of any story. It's not an easy task to create a believable setting with its own set of rules, customs, traditions and political affiliations and then weave a story into the said setting. Luckily, storytellers and video game writers don't always need to create complex settings when we've got history books as thick as Big Chungus.

Historical eras make a fabulous setting for video games. They've already got the world-building nailed, complete with their own set of rules, customs, traditions and political affiliations. Honestly, I don't think I need to justify the fact that historical eras make an amazing setting for video games. If you don't believe me, just go ahead and play the Ghost of Tsushima or any of the Assassin's Creed games."

The first crusade would be pretty sweet. I’d probably enjoy any of those on your list if they were done respectfully. Like not some dork in Portland making a Russian Revolution game.

Benin Empire, Far East, Central America. Games are pretty biased toward Europe, North America, and the Middle East. There is a very big world out there.
