It's a PS3 cult classic, so I'm thinking something along the lines of a sequel to Folklore, Heavenly Sword, etc. Then again, it doesn't mention if it's an exclusive so it could literally be anything..

I'm not the biggest RPG guy in the world... like I've played only the first like 5 hours of FFVII but I've attempted to play them all atleast thru FFX... man but Legend of Legaia... I can't explain it.... that game captured me like no Final Fantasy could....

I also had Breath of Fire III.. and Legend of Dragoon... those all were good games... I remember I even messed around with Dark Cloud a little bit... I dunno.. not the most traditional RPG player... still gotta play Valkyria Chronicles now that I think of it.. or like I mentioned above atleast attempt to play it... I can't seem to get into them all. that's why in recent years I haven't found myself really purchasing and/or buying any...

Legend of Dragoon 2 needs to happen. But this gen is nearing it's end... a game like LoD2 would require many, many talented people and at least 2 years of heavy work.

I'd expect such a theoretical masterpiece to have inspiring music, unique artwork, visual presentation and of course to squeeze the PS3 for every fractional drop of power it has to offer.

My standards for it are exceedingly high.

Ah silly flight game instead of something decent Konami have really gone downhill. Mostly because sequels are hard to do on multiple consoles do to rights meaning loss in revenue. So instead new IPs are made.

In the meantime, for Folklore fans I would recommend Knights Contract also by Game Republic. Yeah, it got bad reviews, but I am thoroughly enjoying it. There is a strong resemblance in fight system, art style, environments (especially later) and maybe music. It's not as good as Folklore, but it's a fix until something closer comes by.

Great that they're following last year's strategy.
If they announce stuff in advance, and 5 hours conference, it will be biiiig.
But Sony needs so much to keep his customers and make a big splash after the PSN debacle.
I guess the event after the conference will be NGP related, while the conference will be big about the PS3.

According to everyone here, I NEED to play Folklore. I loved the demo that was on PSN. Sounds like the sequel could be to Folklore or Heavenly Sword. The hints state the classic was a PS3 game, so a sequel to one of those two would be a good bet.

Yes, you NEED to play Folklore if you don't mind sixaxis implementation in the combat.

Personally, I think it's the absolute BEST use of the motion sensors in ps3 controllers in any game thus far.

It's up there but would say 'Flower' is the best intoduction to motion sensing (Sixaxis) on the PS3..

'Flow' also and everything follows from there for me..

Lair was better than I thought (after bad press) though not as good as it could have been if so much time wasn't spent concentrating on (Sixaxis) as opposed to story and gameplay mechanics..

Would love it to be Folklore but also a million other titles.. 8 Days, Getaway, MediEvil, HS2 < Definitely this.. Heavenly Sword (despite some niggles) remains one of the best titles I've played this Gen...

I'm a smoker(not tobacco) But some of the worlds are breathtaking imo. The story is a little twisted (in a good way) If you like action rpgs and beautiful game worlds then folklore is for you.

Yes Enslaved was pretty mediocre on it's own, and especially more so compared to Heavenly Sword. Bought it for $25 but would've been pissed if I had spent $60.

"Quasi-sequel to a PS3 cult classic". Sounds more like Starhawk than anything else, since it's a quasi-sequel. But Starhawk has already been shown so I don't really know what this is. This is a PS magazine, so when they say PS3 it could mean that it is on PS3 and other platforms.

Seriously doubt its Folklore, the game had dismal sales and a very average critical reception. Besides as flawed as Game Republic titles are, without there involvement that certain magic just wouldn't be there..say what you will about Game Republic but their art team are exceptional.
