Fact is EVERY PS3 game since '09 has had Trophies. They are expected now. (standards)

The GOW remakes had trophies. I don't see why these are any different. (precedence)

not necessarily SONY call.... I'm pretty sure Kojima has more say in his franchise/games than many other developers in the business....

for all we know it could be his idea... I mean Kojima might like things a little bit old school... you know... maybe...

I do know some people feel that trophies/achievements have taken the grandeur out of some games... because people are just playing to get gamerscores and/or Golds/Platinums...

it's different than just 10 years ago... yeah it's come a long way... and trophies/achievements do have their upsides... but when it comes to a franchise like MGS....

even with a port or an enhancement of a previous game or even a new game... I think Hideo Kojima has about 98.6% approval on all and everything....

I'm just saying it might not be SONY.... and if it has trophies then awesome... and if it doesn't have trophies than deal with it.

I love the idea of PSP ports.

I don't expect the game to look that great though-- even though it's in HD I'm assuming things like textures will still remain the same.

I'm playing GoW HD and the cut-scenes are atrocious/muddled and blurry. I imagine that PSP ports will look a bit worse.

Of course, it's better than going back to get a PSP to play these games, so I'm just happy to get some quality games on my console.

Are PSP games better quality than the old PS2 games?

I imagine they would upscale a little bit better, but then again I am not sure what resolution either puts out in.

The cutscenes (FMVs) in GOW Collection look like crap because they are pre-rendered 480p videos you are runnin on a HD display, you can't magically transform a SD video into an HD one, they would need to make the entire CG again. But the cutscenes running on the engine are fine, as the engine itself is pumped to produce those 720p image.

PSP has a worse resolution indeed (272p) but only FMVs will suffer, just like in GoW... And even that can only be true if we're assuming devs made those CGs natively on such low quality or don't have the source material prepared/saved on higher resolution for a port, which is really not likely for more recent games, most devs must had foreseen this situation (porting).

In-engine cutscenes won't ever suffer and MGS don't use CGs. In fact, most recent games don't use any prerendered videos (well, except maybe for advertising LOL). It's hard to justify CGs today... We get enough quality from in-game graphics, it takes less space, is more compression friendly, end up with a more fluid storytelling and a represent a smaller final cost of production. CGs, although more popular than ever before in the movie industry, are a dying art on videogames... So unless you are an avid FF fan, you probably won't have to deal much with it anyway.

How good it looks remastered depends on whether or not they still have access the original assets that were downsampled and reduced for performance to play on psp.

If they have those, and also are willing to take the extra effort to make use of them, then it will look pretty damn good.

i dont see why they dont use the emulator they have on the ps3 to play the psp mini, and download psp games on psn, sure they wont look as good, but atleast it would expand the library alot, and if they want to just port them over or release them on psn with the updated graphics

This will happen guys, although not officially confirmed...we know its coming. I think Hideo was upset as he was planning to remake peace walker as a full fledged ps3 title until Sony ruined it by announcing the "PSP to PS3 HD remasters", which will mean that it will be released as an polished upscaled port. I dont know....I mean lets say for argument sake, this was the case...Im sure Kojima has some say in it...that if he's gonna bring PW to PS3...He's gonna "BRING" PW to PS3...If he wanted, Im sure it doesnt have to be an upscaled port, he can do whatever he wants with it...Its his game !

well technically he doesn't HAVE to release pw as a psp hd remaster. just because sony announced the hd remasters. i think sony would actually acknowledge him to create a full ps3 version of peace walker if he was already working on that. i mean why make a remastered psp version when you can make a full fledged ps3 version

how much are these remasters going to cost? They can't be more than 40 dollars considering that PsP development costs are not even half of a full fledge PS3 game, right? These remasters are nothing more than an increase in resolution with a bit of anti-aliasing and no trophies.

I'm a little late for the party guys but is this true? Can you transfer the memory saves from your PSP games unto these remastered ones? Because if so then that is fucking ace. I have like 700+ hours on Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and pretty much S classed all Peace Walker missions but I would bloody hell love to play them again on my 52" plasma beast.

Thanks.. yeah, I've played them all except the portable ones... and I never played Metal Gear or anything for Nintendo... well I tried it on an emulator once but it didn't feel right.

but yeah MGS, MGS2, MGS3, MGS4... never messed with the virtual missions game they made... played it once or twice but didn't own it.

I had the ZOE games aswell... I remember the 1st ZOE game came with the MGS2 demo.... and I got the game just for the demo and the game turned out to be pretty fun... They gave it a sequel... and Kojima ran it I believe. ZOE I believe is another one of his series.
