NowGamer runs down the ten biggest games industry failures, including games and consoles.
The action-RPG by now-defunct Silicon Knights is now free for Xbox gamers! Check out the Too Human free direct download link with armor sets here.
Fun fact: I'm one of five people to have completed Too Human and actually liked it. It should be noted that the other four ended up in mental institutions....sadly.
WTMG's Leo Faria: "We revisit Daikatana, the dull first-person shooter that single-handedly destroyed the reputation of the once famed game designer John Romero."
I liked this game. It has it's flaws but the story and mechanics are pretty good. It still holds up today.
Once again Urmumlol succeeds in pegging himself as a juvenile arsehole.
Don't listen to the report. This is a great send up of big budget failures. Also quite fairly points out that it wasn't always the developer's fault.
Best example is Haze. Sucked that it effectively ended Free Radical. Probably killed the Timesplitters franchise too, which is a shame.
Haze was strictly a 6/10 game.. then after about an hour of playtime it auto-saved me while falling to my death... 4/10
Too Human wasn't too bad. Hardly a fail to be honest.
Er, you missed off the the Xbox 360 from this list.*
* Irony.
To be fair Ion Storm went and bounced straight back from Daikatana by making Deus Ex and its sequel.
Watching games flop is actually quite horrible. Especially when you've been pouring all over the pre-release content for ages but no matter how hard you try you can't like the finished product.
Then that horrible feeling when you realize it's pretty much a bullet in the head of about thirty to sixty people's jobs.
