I was looking at a couple of these comparisons before the release, and I went ahead and bought the PS3 version because I thought it looked better. I gotta say, though, the SSAO is handled absolutely horribly in the PS3 version. It makes everything look like it's outlined in a shadow. Now I'm thinking I should have gotten the 360 version because it doesn't seem to use SSAO at all.

If I took out the "now I'm thinking I should have gotten the 360 version," would you all stop 'disagreeing' me to death?

Edit: and calling me a "faggot"? Jesus Christ.

evilunklebud4747d ago

Yes, you are correct. Take it out and fewer disagrees

As for the "faggot" comment... he is probably just some kid. An adult would not be that threatened by (or hostile towards) an opinion of a video game, of all things.

I'll probably get the PS3 version too, SSAO notwithstanding.

Derekvinyard134748d ago

it dosent matter. your making that conclusion by looking at the comparisons. No picture or video on the internet can compare to the game itself every TV is diffrent justice cannot be done for most games on the internet when it comes to visuals.

Bimkoblerutso4748d ago (Edited 4748d ago )

Well that's what I meant, really. I've seen the PS3 version firsthand and I really, REALLY dislike the SSAO. I can't speak for the 360 version. It just LOOKED like it lacked SSAO.

I should have known better than to mention the other system and thus get myself involved in all this console-war backlash bullshit.

Grass is always greener on the other side, right?

sayonara894748d ago

Look at the shadows on the first screen, much better on PS3. SSAO is "like it or not" effect, but it's usually counted as advantage of one version over the other (if one od them has no SSAO).

THWIP714748d ago

...the 360 version looks fantastic. The only thing that bugs me about the looks of this game, is how flat environment textures look, compared to the detail in clothing, furniture, interiors, etc. The outdoor details really look bland...like the 1st Godfather game almost...in comparison.

starchild4748d ago (Edited 4748d ago )

Sheesh, in this case both versions look nearly identical. All of these screenshot comparisons show two versions that essentially look the same. In some shots the 360 looks better, in others the PS3 version looks better.

For the full analysis I am personally waiting for Digital Foundry because they are the most professional and the most thorough.

Derekvinyard134748d ago

agreed, how long do they usually take tho? 2-3 weeks?

sayonara894748d ago

Look at the shadows (looks so much better on PS3) and SSAO (it's not present on 360), other than that both look identical. Framebuffer is 1280x720 MSAAx2 on both systems.

This place is such a joke. Hopefully Anonymous and company hack this crap site next. :o

I honestly don't see a difference they both look the same maybe the xbox one is a little brighter and the ps3 one is a little darker but the graphics look the same.

the Xbox 360's textures are better on the roads, but the rest looks the same, if you dont count the crappy draw distance the 360 spits out

L.A. Noire And Bully — Rockstar's Lost Gems That Deserve A Sequel As Much As GTA

Hanzala from eXputer: "I do appreciate GTA 6, Rockstar, but if I could trade it for a new L.A. Noire or a Bully game, I'd do so in a heartbeat."

Skuletor41d ago

How are they lost? You can get L.A. Noire on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch and Bully is on the PS5 and Xbox Series too.

Psychonaut8541d ago

I want a new Manhunt game. But that will never happen.

Demetrius41d ago

Mfs are too sensitive nowadays and would cry instead of being concerned bout real world problems

Demetrius41d ago

Whenever gta 6 launch we won't be getting another rockstar title for another 10 years lol but on the positive side they bou to come back n show how open world supposed to be done 🔥

Skuletor41d ago

I won't expect any singleplayer DLC like IV's The Lost & Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony after it launches either

One I never finished. I've been looking at the ps4 version off Amazon the last few months just never bit

Knightofelemia145d ago

It's worth playing LA Noire is one of my favorite Rockstar games. But I would also check out pawnshops or thrift stores if you want the game dirt cheap. Someone may have been dumb enough to dump the game.

andy85146d ago

Baffles me when people have these opinions about acclaimed games 😂

RhinoGamer88146d ago

100% agree... not perfect, but an engaging/refreshing experience.

sagapo146d ago

Agree, at time of release those facial expressions were amazing! They still hold strong even today imo.
The game on its own was good. Something fresh, but sidequests were a bit meh after a while.

Nacho_Z146d ago

I picked it up on sale recently, going to play it next summer. I'll get more out of it this time, first time around I treated the open world like it was GTA and goofed about, whereas now I'll play it with more respect. RDR2 has trained me well.

I also hadn't read Raymond Chandler at the time so presumably that'll add another layer of enjoyment too.

1nsomniac146d ago (Edited 146d ago )

Absolutely stunning game. So underrated. Played through it again last year and it still stands up so well. Like many of rockstars games it’s actually a far better experience on PC. I didn’t enjoy it as much on console. Completed it at least 3 times on pc.

The rumours of a sequel are awesome news despite the fact I think Rockstar are now the shell of the company they once were.

SyntheticForm146d ago

Team Bondi made a hell of a game.
