VGW: It is a very difficult task to follow trends and determine what game may be on its way. This is even more the case with music games, as you never know what developers like Harmonix and Neversoft are doing behind the scenes to find all of these bands, and even they don’t know who is going to give the green light. However, evidence is slowly mounting for a new game in the Rock Band franchise – more specifically, Pink Floyd: Rock Band.
Harmonix, best known for their work on the Rock Band franchise, has announced that they're becoming a part of the Epic Games family.
Harmonix, the developer behind Rock Band and Dance Central, reveal some new gameplay footage for the upcoming DJ song-mixing game.
More Stadia exclusives are on the way.
Google should just stick to tablets software and phones all this news still will not get people to buy the friggin thing. I'd rather buy a PS5 or a Series X then waste cash on Stadia.
Lol what's the point? when will google realise the vast majority don't want to game on their crappy platform?
It's kind of sad. Splash Damage is a great developer, and have made some fantastic games that simply never saw the audience they deserved. Partnering with Stadia isn't going to change that track record, by any means.
As for Super Massive, Until Dawn was fantastic, but their latest release didn't do well, and I think they're looking for any sort of partnership money at this point.
Pink Floyd would be a much beter upgrade from Beatles rock band and Greed Day Rock Band*mostly low tempo chord strumming with no solos). Both those bands have little talent when it comes to intruments and therefore offer little challenge for advanced player. Pink Floyd doesnt really appeal to the mainstream audience these days though so I doubt this is a valid rumor. I would love to see a Megadeth related game though. They did GH Metallica so a Megadeth version would be both challenging and fun to play. Dave Mustaine deserves some acknowlegement for once.
Yes please. Day 1.
I'd love some Pink Floyd, greatest band ever in my humble opinion.
thats great, but i think they missed the boat abit, rockband etc is played out franchise
While I love Pink Floyd I don't think any music game should make special versions dedicated to one band. The only reaosn I purchase these is when the price hits a low and I can import the songs into my main Rock Band game. Personally I would rather see Rock Band 4 begin development on a platform where you can download the band content like and add-on. On the menu it would allow you to now pick the band. For example, a menu option that says "Play Tour, Play Green Day Tour, ...". This would automatically integrate with the current library, utilize the same engine and they could simply add challenges to the game along with the content. It's a simple model that most FPS games follow now which is very successful.
