MadOverdose.com writes: I have to admit, it’s becoming increasingly difficult in today’s market to feel excited for a first person shooter. With a genre renown for very little innovation and unique identity, hearing about an upcoming title featuring elements from Team Fortress and Mirror’s Edge felt fresh, to say the least.
AAA games get all the attention. But some games get lost in the shuffle. Especially shooters! Make time for these five.
I didnt care for brink. I thought it was going to be like overwatch back in the day.
It’s time to Switch to Brink before taking 12 Orbits around Letters from Whitechapel? That sort of works.
Six years later, and the game is available to anyone who wants it on PC.
I'm Brinking about buying this game
I agree with most of the points, however,
"In my 7 hours of playing the game, I must have spent under 10 minutes trying to use parkour. It just doesn’t work."
As someone who primarily plays the light class, I disagree.
Each level has a lot of hidden routes that are great for taking your enemies by surprise. The pathways take time to figure out, but they're there. You just have to pay attention for hints in the levels.
However, SMART isn't that helpful in combat. As the author noticed, sliding sort of works, but it isn't that useful in direct combat. What it can be used for is deceiving enemies.
It just requires some experimentation (and manual usage of the spacebar). =)
It's a bit late for first impressions.
surprised by the fact this guy is getting fps lag, my friend with an 8600 gets more than that, granted hes on lowest settings and but his card is under the minimum, but how does he get less than 30 fps... i get over 60 setting with the 285, i can understand if he had an ati card since there's bug with that right now
